Peg, DW and I toured a room at the Manchebo this summer and it was quite comfortable. Easy walking distance to a number of restaurants and good restaurants in house. Longer walk to the casino.... but that's workable. Really considering it for next summer. DW loves the spectacular beach and we're both OK with the extra walk to the ocean.

We're okay with the walk to the water or I should say I am. Tom doesn't go in! We also liked the restaurants that were there. It looks more relaxed than Bucuti. We're going to wait and decide after our stay at the Rennaisance but we do seem to prefer the low rise area.

Wrapping up our Divi stay and moving downtown to the Rennaisance. Tom has a cold and so do a lot of others I guess. Ran into DiviDiviFan this morning and her husband is sick and now she's feeling it coming on.

The good about the Divi; their beautiful beach with no problems getting a palapa; the staff; the 50% off sale if you're a family and free wifi

The bad; the only place to get wifi is in the lobby and those little gnats are plentiful first thing in the am; the crowds; so many children it's hard to find a quiet spot.

So we move on. More later ..

I'm sad that bad parenting is making you so uncomfortable. Hope you thoroughly enjoy the Renaissance Sounds like a crazy busy time there right now!

Talk about an easy move! We're all checked in at the Rennaisance and our room is ready. We're thrilled. The person who brought our bags up started explaining where the supermarket was and I laughed and told him there would be no cooking! Our room overlooks the pools. They are still putting in pavers there are plenty of chaises available and a few people playing volley ball.

Glad you had an easy move. Enjoy your stay and I hope gets over his cold fast but some rum should numb the cold.

Happy Happy Happy just the way you should feel on vacation. We poked around a bit, had lunch at Cafe dePlaza which was delicious then Tom went to the casino and I hit the beach for the afternoon!

I was at the lagoon today. We figured we would just relax and not rush to do stuff. Plan to go to the island tomorrow. I'm curious to see it. Tomorrow night we plan to go to the Bon Bini Festival at the fort. Maybe I'll find the Djucu nuts there!

Saw a beautiful bowl at a local shop here but so expensive. I've decided to wait on making any purchases until I check out the design store, Cosecha. Just have to figure out where it is. They say in back of the Rennaisance.

Tonight we we decided to take a chance and walk over to West Deck without a reservation. They were busy but not full so they were able to accommodate us. It's such a nice spot. We just did appetizers and the Caribbean bread breakfast. Okay I also had 2 Carribbean Prides. Not sure what was in it but boy were they good. Tom told the waitress that I would probably be snoring tonight!

When we got back I went over to the bakery around the corner from Dutch Pancake house and picked up some breakfast pastries plus something sweet for dessert tonight. Breakfast tomorrow elephant ears and mango turnovers!

The Rennaisance is turning out to be in a very convenient spot. It's a nice change. I even like having the little dining/kitchen area for making a cup of tea or coffee
