A beautiful morning in Aruba. The waves are crashing and the Pelicans are doing their morning dive for food. That just never gets old. Today is our 33 year wedding anniversary and I can think of no better way to spend it. Thinking of Matthews for dinner with a back up plan of Twist of Flavors.
Wow.... you musta got married at 12 YO! Happy Anniversary.... and enjoy many more... hopefully in Aruba.
The winds were whipping all day without any let up. The waves were coming fast and furious so everyone headed for the pool, including me!!! We headed over to Matthews for dinner and it was still so windy that the staff was swapping all the tables with napkins to get rid of the sand!! It was an early night. Back to the room by 7:00 for a quiet evening of TV. Kind of boring huh!!!
It seems unusually windy to us and we have been in May a few times. I can normally get in the water and manage the waves with the right timing. Yesterday they were really crashing. It just wasn't worth chancing. I saw maybe 3 people go in during the course of the day and they didn't stay in. One of the locals shook her head and told me no don't go in, it will eat you!! Remember though it can change quickly. It hopefully will be calm today.
Breakfast buffet this morning. I've always loved the buffet here , so many choices. Minor disappointment this morning though. Eggs Benedict have always been cooked to order. You place your order, got toast your muffin and it's always perfect. Well I suppose in the interest of efficiency Anita was premaking the benedicts and the English muffin wasn't toasted. The egg ended up hard boiled. Oh the crisis we endure in Aruba. So DiviDiviFan beware I know it's you favorite. Right now I'm under the palapa watching people debating on whether or not they will brave the waves
Out in front of the lobby there's a huge crane where they are putting in huge palms to replace the Divi trees that were once there.
