    Trip report feb 3 - 10

Well we arrived on sunday feb 3rd out of boston about 20 min later than planned But a smile came on my face as we saw Bully standing outside waiting for us.. He is so awesome was great to catch up with him. He proceded to take us to Playa Linda (this was the first time staying there we usually are at the marriott surf.
Had to wait about an hour for room to be ready, so we strolled around the grounds to get familiar, and find our pool spot for the morning. After getting our room we unpacked a little and made our way out (it was super bowl sunday by the way ) so after going to Casa Tua for salad and a pizza (love it there) we decided to stroll the beach to see all the screens set up and watch a little of the game, was awesome. It was a loonnngggg day of traveling so we retired to our room and watched the game (hubby was happy he was winning in his pool)....
Monday it was up early bring the towels down then head up to have breakfast. Sit at the pool all day then decided to go to supermarket to get a few things well on the way I slipped and fell oh boy did a number on my foot...iced it for a while didn't want to miss dinner it was at Chalet Suisse which was an excellent meal..and service was fabulous...Then I went to ER and spent 4 hrs to have my foot xray of my foot... nothing broken just a bad sprain and ligament tear...GREAT...
Well thats long enough for now will continue later..

    elevation and ice right ?
hope that your foot is better now.

do you have any comments comparing the playa linda and marriott surf ?
or is it apples vs oranges?

did you get to scott's brats which is right there on the beach?

look forward to reading more when you get the chance.

Take care of that foot.... my SIL broke hers a couple of years ago and spent 1/2 of her first Aruba trip in a wheel chair. Hearing a lot of good about Chalet Suisse lately.... gotta go back there this year... it's been a few for us. I look forward to your next installment!

Andrea, we really liked Playa Linda.. not as busy as marriott.. shorter distance from room to beach and /or pool...quiet an older crowd I felt...would definately go back.
Also yes we did go to Scots Brats for hot dogs at lunch time... awesome...also saw Daniel there promoting his new book....

Glad you had a nice trip (except for the trip that injured your foot of course) I laughed when you were looking forward to dinner so much you didn't go to ER until after, smart move seeing as you were waiting for 4 hrs. It must be pretty cool to see all the big screens set up on the beaches for the big game. Thanks for reporting.

I agree with you about Playa Linda. After five years of staying at other resorts, we finally booked at Playa Linda and fell in love with it. Great location and beautiful resort. I am anxious to hear the rest of your trip report. Hope you foot is much better.

Sunworshiper sorry to hear about your foot although I had to chuckle about not wanting to miss dinner. I am sure I would be the same way. I hope it continues to improve with "Father time." I wanted to share the Divi lady that help us with our affairs at Divi LOVES the Playa Linda. She always raves about it---It must be very nice. I am glad you enjoyed it.

Andrea, yes did notice the fake grass out front pretty cool.. The playa linda staff was awesome when I hurt my foot... The manager Jan is a very nice man. I have already booked for next year there.. Not back to dancing yet foot still hurts they say I should do physical therapy...ughhh no time for that but we will see...
I guess the chickee situation is the same everywhere you go, the regulars (people that have been there for 35 years and go for a month are up at like 2;30 in the am and sleep at there chickees.... I saw a lady at 6;30 (while getting my dunkins) walking off beach with her blanket and pillow... does it really matter what chickee you have as long as your on the beach...ghezzz...I don't get it..but I am not getting up at 2;30 on vacation..

you do what you gotta do for your foot, whatever works for you!

do any forum members "camp out" at their beach in order to get the most coveted spot...or just a spot at all?

apparently playa linda does not have a "procedure" like the radisson or other places.
