    Trip Report - Jan. 29 - Feb. 19

We arrived on the island yesterday afternoon. The flights down were great, and we actually arrived a little early. We had scheduled a taxi to take us from our home to the airport. I had called them Thursday afternoon and told them that we needed to be picked up at 4:15 am. At 4:15 Thursday afternoon, I received a call from a taxi driver, saying that she was in our driveway to pick us up. I explained and sent her on her way, and then called the taxi company to explain the mix up and make sure they had us down for the right time. Ofcourse, they blamed it on a computer error and assured me that it was corrected, and that they would pick us up at 4:15 am. Well, 4:15 comes, and no taxi. I call and they say that there has been a delay and the taxi will be there in around 20 minutes. What this really means is they hadn't sent anyone. I get a little ticked, and say, Why did I schedule a taxi for 4:15 if it isn't going to be here until after 4:30? I told them to forget it. We quickly hopped in the car, which was low on gas, found a gas station and drove the 45 min. drive to the airport. I then had to email family and ask them to come out to the airport and pick up the car because it would cost a fortune to leave it there for three weeks. Luckily, our son in law was flying in last night and our daughter was picking him up, so they were able to drive the car home.
We quickly put all of that our of our minds, and relaxed on our two flights. Bully and Kevin picked us up and we caught up with him on our way to Costa Linda. We checked in, went to happy hour, and sat on the beach until sunset. Dinner was at pizza Bob's. Service was actually pretty quick, for Pizza Bob's standards. We took a walk over to Ricardo's to check on a reservation for Sunday night. I'd emailed them twice, but they have someone who is supposed to be managing their website (and actually isn't managing the site), so they didn't have it, so we got that straight. We walked around the shops by the casino for a while, and then called it a day. This morning we are just sitting on the beach and relaxing. The only plans we have today are beach, happy hour, and a trip to Lings. We've been catching up with friends and ran into our favorite bartender from Manchebo, and made plans to meet up with him in a few days. That's about it so far. Just relaxing and enjoying the glorious weather.

I am thankful our driver always shows up like clockwork 15 min before he needs to be at our house and is waiting in our driveway. We use the same company each trip and always ask for the same driver. Boston Transportation- and ask for Sam.
