Glad it's working - my next suggestion would have been to disconnect & "forget" the device then reconnect.

Wednesday was a busy day. We finally got ourselves out of our beach chairs and did something. We limited our beach time to just the morning. There has been a dog on the beach that looks so much like Whitey/Coco. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, just do a search on this board, and you can learn all about that drama. She has a rusty, old chain around her neck that will soon be cutting into her skin. People here at Costa Linda have been giving her their dinner leftovers and fresh water. We think that she had an owner, but has probably been abandoned. I've told several people the whitey/coco story. Security came by and threw out the water and ran her off, to quite the uproar from some of the guests. One man really got into it with them. She is back this morning. Poor baby. I don't know what her future holds, but after the Whitey/Coco mess, I doubt that she could be adopted.

We spent the afternoon downtown. Three ships were in port, and man, was it crowded. I had looked all around Palm Beach the night before on my tanzanite ring quest. I had purchased the one I have on a cruise in St. Thomas about 15 years ago. The stone has a crack and has lost it's luster, but I absolutely love the setting. I couldn't find one that had a setting that I liked as much as mine. Some local people that we have known for a long time told us that they always buy their jewelry at Gold Palace. We stopped in their Palm Beach store and talked with the owner, K.P. He suggested that I just replace the stone and keep my setting, since I loved it so much. He has an in house workshop in his downtown store, so we agreed to meet at his downtown store yesterday afternoon and look at stones. Before meeting with him, I decided to visit all of the downtown jewelry stores to look at rings before I met him, just to be sure. After looking, I was convinced that re-setting my ring was the way I wanted to go. K.P. helped me find a beautiful stone that was twice the size of my original stone, with a much more vivid blue color. His price was beyond reasonable, much less than some of the other jewelers that I discussed this plan with. He also re-sized my ring (it had always been just a little too lose) and replated the white gold, and reshaped my husband's wedding band and shined it for free. It was late afternoon when we finished, but he said he could have it ready that night and he would bring it to his Palm Beach store.

We came back to Costa Linda and went to happy hour. They were having their carnival celebration, where they crown the Costa Linda carnival queen (one of the guests), staff carnival queen, and have carnival dancers perform in their lavish costumes. It is always a lively event.

After the celebration, we went back to Palm Beach and ate a quick dinner at Smokey Joes, and then went to Gold Palace to pick up the ring. THE RING- all I could say was Oh Wow! over and over. It is stunning, and beyond my expectations. I am so thrilled with the job they did. K.P. was just awesome to work with. He has earned a loyal customer.

My husband is trying to find a certain vendor that used to be at the flea market by Certified. She sells hand crafted iguanas, that her husband carves out of a certain type of wood, but I don't remember the name. Since they were closing the flea market by Certified, she thought that they would be moving to the one up by the Valero or the one by Senor Frogs. We've been to both, and also the one right next to the bus stop, but haven't found her yet. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. He's been collecting them for several years, and keeps them in his office. Well, beach time is calling. So long for now.

How exciting about your new ring and you got it back so quickly! I'll be adding that store to my list. For the wooden iguana you might try the Divi AI. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have vendors come in around 6:00 pm. There is a man who sells carved wooden animals. I purchased a small wooden fish. It's difficult to describe, but the fish has small decorative holes on the side and when you look close you can see another fish inside. He usually has an assortment of items. They're also at the Tamarijn on Mondays and Friday's.

I am hoping that forum member Billstellar or Sugar reads this thread.
They are both very active with the ARF-Aruba and may be able to help that poor dog.

What a great situation with your ring. Terrific.

The dog has adopted us. She is hanging out at our palapa. We have been getting loads of attention. Someone from Mass. is interested in adopting her. I gave her ARF's contact info and she is trying to reach them. She is full of ticks. We have been pulling them off, and the people trying to adopt her went to the store and bought her some flea and tick meds. and my hubby put it on her. She is such a sweet dog. I would try to adopt her but these other people are trying to. She's eating well. She had a huge steak this morning and a crossant. We've been giving her fresh water.

I really liked K.P. from the moment I met him. He has such a warm smile. I'm thinking about having him design a new wedding set for my diamond on my next visit. He showed me some pictures of rings that he has designed and they were gorgeous. Time to start saving up for next year.
