    Trip Report Nov 16-23

Ok, here we go. I am really going to try to do a daily trip report this year, and since we dont have the kids this year I may find some extra time to write a few notes.

    Saturday,

Direct flight out of Philly US AIR. Disaster of course!! PHL has to be one of the worst airports to travel from. It took 90 minutes to get past security. One belt out of eight open, and one security person checking passports on Saturday???? Wife suprised me and upgraded us to first class. Nice flight with a nice lunch, and of coursre plenty of refreshments. Kelly waited for the bags and I went to Alamo. No problem with the rental. Fast and easy with no issues. Checkin at the Surf Club was also flawless. Went straight to the waves bar for some refreshments, and a sunset. Continued the party at Moomba followed by a trip to the casino walked away a small winner Had a late snack at champions which was fine.
Next Aruba trip to the Marriott Surf Club July 2018.

Well ... Sounds like first class would definitely make up for the rough start. Looking forward to the daily reports.

Thanks for the warning on PHL. My brother is flying to AUA out of there on Saturday December 21 . I will tell him to make sure he is there at least 3 hours early.

Do you remember what they served for lunch so I can give him a heads up on that as well? First class was cheaper than coach.

Enjoy your trip. Weather there looks beautiful today.

Hi mattmorr, looking forward to your daily reports this week. Maybe I can live thru you this week, as I terribly miss the island. It's 335 days until I get there again, ughhh! We fly out of Harrisburg and if I have the option I stay away form Philly airport. If my flights there aren't delay, they lose my luggage. We try to go through CLT. Nice 1st class move though. According to the 6 web cams I check out every day, it looks like you had great weather today. Wishing you 6 more of those! Enjoy your time and happy eats, drinks, and gambling!

    Sunday,

Went to Dushi for breakfast had the breakfast special egg/bagel sandwich, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice for ten bucks. Then off to Super foods for the first time and it sure is "Super". Love the selection and the layout. Had a real nice lady at the deli feeding me Gouda. Must have tried every type of Gouda they offer. Back to the Surf Club for some great beach time. Weather was perfect, and I am glad to see the beach directly in front of us is imrpoving each year. Took a ride up to Arashi beach for the sunset, and it never disapoints. Has to be one of the best beaches in the world. Happy Hour was extended to the Casino and Lady Luck has now left the building. Went to Smokey Joes, had the Baby Backs that are always consistent. Wife had the steak kabobs that were amazing!! Thanks for the kind words from everyone.

    Monday,

Storms this morning chased us to the shops. Found some good deals and of course found some adult beverages during our shopping excursion!! Mojitos at Mojitos.... service was slooooow. I understand there is "island time" But this was crazy slow and drinks not that refreshing. Stopped by a great cigar bar Rouba Reggae with a great bar cold drinks and an awesome humidor!! Tried to get a drink at the paddock, and it seemed no one was working. No problem ... went to the seaport casino and they provided great service as we made a small donation. Back in time for some great beach time and an incredible sunset. Went to Bingo's for dinner and had an awesome piece of Grouper with a lobster sauce. Wife had a burger that looked like a half of a steer... Service was great!! Went to the casino and made a donation. Andrea you must be on to something with that buffalo machine. Someone was glued to the machine with over 6000 credits. I would have needed a crow bar to get her away from that machine. Hopefully I will be able to jump on it tomorrow. Lisa the meal on the plane was an Italian duo with ravioli with marinara, tortellini and pesto, served with salad with a balsamic dressing and a warm piece of choc cake. Heading to Boca snorkeling in the morning with Whacky Wahoo for dinner. Will keep you posted. Matt
