Trip report Nov 26 to Dec 13

We'll we arrived early but the line to immigration was ridiculous. But the unbelievable part was the traffic. It took 45 minutes from the beginning of the renaissance till you hit the gas station. There was no accident, no construction. I was having a meltdown. Suffice to say, I will not be going anywhere near downtown. Who cares about parking. The locals we talked to said this is the new thing. They avoid downtown at all costs.

of course Setar internet was useless so I decided to use Mio. Oh, by the way, they are no longer by Super Foods. That is now Digicell. But they told me where it was. Their prices have gone up. I had to pay to activate, plus the 5 days for Nov & the month of Dec. it cost $100.

my friend just texted me from the airport, she was going home. She said the passport control line was like nothing she ever saw. It was so long. She is going to keep me posted about the balance. I can honestly say it never use to be a hassle but it sure is beginning to be.

however, we are here & settled and the beach was beautiful, the weather fab. Last night we went to Le Petit and met our friends for Thanksgiving. Oh, both me & hubby won at the Hyatt. Same dealers and cocktail waitresses. They were complaining about the Venezuelans & saying something has to be done.

But out we're thrilled to be here

Welcome to Aruba! Traffic downtown is crazy because of all the cruise ships. We had a hard time getting a taxi back to the Divi the other day. It's hard to figure the immigration lines. When we got in on Monday there were maybe 10 people in front if us and the one Happy Flow took just seconds. The only thing I can figure is since we were 2nd row of the plane we got there quicker then everyone?

hope you're enjoying g your day today!

Sounds like a nightmare getting to the hotel. At least that's over. Glad you won at the Hyatt. I never have any luck there. It' been quite awhile since MIO hasn't been by Super Foods and now at the Market at Alhambra mall.

We felt your pain in that traffic yesterday. 45 minutes from the airport to Playa Linda around 3pm. I was just glad we were in a taxi and not driving, we sit in enough of that at home.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Tracey, that was us at that time. Peg, we were in first class & the second people off plane, that didn't help, lol. I'm not going to worry about going home, the airport, etc. my friend's flight was 5:30 today. Got to airport at about 2:30, took a little under 2 hours. Hoping global entry will cut some time off.

anyway, we are here & my hubby is in his glory. He just got back from beach. We made margaritas for the beach.....

Thanks for checking in, Gaby. I'm surprised that there was so much traffic driving through downtown.
From my precious visits I remember very long lines at the airport going back home. However, that was Sundays.

Enjoy your vacation and those margaritas!

Thanksgiving day was bad with 3 cruise ships in town. The traffic in general is a lot more busy. We use to get up to the High rise from our place in 35 minutes in the morning. Now we are looking a 1 hour and 1 day it was 1 hour and 15 minutes. We don't even got thru town. We take the back roads. It is really crazy. I don't understand why they think they still need to cram more ships in per day but anything over 3 ships will teach everyone ALOT of patience!!!! Aruba is changing!!!
