Tuesday was another beach day. There was almost no breeze, and felt intensely hot. We ended up coming inside a little earlier than usual, to cool off. We had dinner at Barefoot. We had planned on walking, but we were tired of dealing with the heat, so we grabbed a taxi. The ride probably only took about 5 minutes. We sat in our usual spot on the sand. The temperature had cooled some by then, and a light breeze was blowing, so it turned out to be a nice evening. The sunset was the best we had all week. I had my usual, caribbean grouper. Hubby decided to try it, and liked it as well. We later shared the grand dessert, which is a sampler of different desserts that they serve. It was a lovely evening.

We came back to Renn. a little early to skype with our daughter and watch the election coverage. We fell asleep around midnight, but left the tv on in the bedroom, with the sound off, so that we could monitor it during the night. We both woke up around 4:30 and were shocked to see Trump's name announced as the winner on the tv screen. We finally fell back to sleep for a couple of hours.

Wednesday, we groggily made our way to the beach. We read and napped off and on for several hours. The breeze picked up for the first time, so it was nice and comfortable. We spent the day as we had the others, between the beach, lagoon, and pool. We decided late in the afternoon to go for a walk around town. We hadn't done that at all on this trip because of the lack of breezes. We walked around all of the shops, and were sad to see how empty most of them were, especially with two ships in town. We only made one small purchase and headed back to happy hour.

With no plans for dinner, we decided to go back to West Deck for another platter of balashi grouper fingers and fries. They were just as good as the ones that we had a few days ago. I got a mojito, but it was so full of mint that there was very little drink. I had one here in Feb. that was great, so that was disappointing. The food was great, and we were glad that we came back again for a second visit this week. I realized last night that I had eaten grouper four times this week, and pizza twice. I've started most mornings with pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks.

Today is our last day at Renn. We are moving to Costa Linda tomorrow. This is the second time that we have stayed at Renn. When we stayed here last Feb., we were up early every day, heading over to the private island. We would come back late in the day, shower, and head out for the evening. On this trip, we only went over to the island once. We've enjoyed camping out by the lagoon each day. We haven't had to get up as early as we did when going to the island, to claim our spot for the day. By being here at the resort, we've interacted more with the staff and other people. We've enjoyed this stay more.

The breezes disappeared when I was there in August and they appear to be MIA most days from the reports.

Nice reports. I think I would love grouper four times and the pizza. We will have to try West Deck on our next trip. It sounds very good.

We stayed at Ocean Suites. It has a small kitchen and living room. It is located on a beautiful lagoon. We really enjoyed it. Lots of families.

Saturday - We moved to our favorite resort, Costa Linda, yesterday. Bully picked us up around noon. We didn't expect the room to be ready, so we had packed our belongings with that in mind. We left the luggage in the storage room, and took the kyss bag with passports and important items to the beach. There were plenty on empty palapas. We've usually stayed here for two weeks at a time, so we knew that there would be no issue finding a palapa on a Friday. We grabbed some lunch at the bar and had our favorite CL drinks, brown ladies and miami vice. I checked with the front desk around 2:30 while hubby was sleeping, and the room was ready. The staff and I took everything up to the room and I surprised hubby later by telling him that it was already done. I can't express how much we love Costa Linda. Every time that we arrive, it feels like we are home.

We stayed on the beach until after sunset. The clouds covered the sun, so not the best, but we had already seen some spectacular ones this past week. We finally went back to the room, showered, unpacked, and went to Pizza Bob's. More pizza... I had fish and chips for lunch, so a recurring theme again. Afterwards, we walked around the area, shopped in the little market by the casino for some essentials, and went back to the room. Hubby went down around 5:00 am and got a nice palapa.

Thursday night - Now I'm working backwards, as I left this part out. We walked to Pinchos from Renn. for dinner. I had requested to sit in our favorite server's section, Jo Ann. We had a beautiful table with an amazing view. Jo Ann is great at her job and such fun. We had a great time catching up with her. We didn't eat grouper, for a change. We both had the grilled shrimp dinner with mashed potatoes and mixed vegies. It was excellent. We also had the sangria, which, imo, is the best on the island. My second favorite sangria is at Matthew's. Hubby always has to have dessert, usually something chocolate, so he ordered the chocolate mousse cake. I had a few bites, and it was very good.

Afterwards, we walked up to Seaport Casino. It wasn't as smokey that night, so we went in. People were playing my favorite machine. We found some available near the back, but quickly lost our money. oh well....

Summary of our week at Renn.... This was the second time staying there. Last time (Feb.) we booked it as an add - on to the two weeks we we were spending at Costa Linda. We only went to one happy hour. We got up early each day, and headed to the private island. We never hung around the resort. This year, we spent most days at the lagoon, and got to know people and some of the really nice staff. We enjoyed this time much more. We like being downtown for a week. A lot of our favorite restaurants are downtown, and we both like to walk. Since they have added all of the lighting along the paved pathway, we feel safe walking around there at night. There are a lot of people riding their bikes and jogging after dark. We are always very aware of what is going on around us at all times, so we are comfortable walking around in that area. We'll probably stay at Renn. for a week again. It is so much cheaper than renting at Costa Linda, so we'll try splitting our two weeks between Renn. and Costa Linda.

Sounds like a very nice vacation with more to come at your favorite resort. You can never have too much pizza, I always enjoy Pizza Bob's once or twice during my visit. I see the drink brown lady often of this forum can you tell me what is in it? Is it frozen or mixed? I may have to try one sometime...

Frozen: vodka, Irish cream liqueur, rum cream liqueur, coffee liqueur, coconut cream and ice cubes. Drizzle chocolate sauce inside the glass before filling it
