so sorry we were not able to get together

the heat took a lot of wind out of my sails.
the first week we were here (and when you arrived) was like Florida in August..oppressive and exhausting

    congrats on the medicare birthday
    paul too!
we call it our $900 p month birthday present
(as paul came off of our private health ins, now on medicare and an advantage plan!)

i have never hit food coma on this trip. first week was sick and 2nd week, appetite just never returned....however i did enjoy a few donuts that were off the point range

    continue to have fun

    grateful for your aruba stories!

Sunday started out as a rainy morning. Hubby went down early and got his favorite palapa before breakfast. The rain came down pretty hard when we were eating, so we had to wait an hour or so to go back down. The towels were soaked, so I had to exchange them. The day stayed pretty cloudy, which was a blessing.

We went to Ricardo's that night for dinner. There was no breeze, and it was hot and stuffy. It has been so strange to see all of the palm trees completely still on this trip. I ordered the coconut scallops that I loved last year. Hubby got the lobster pasta with vodka sauce. It covered the entire plate, and had lots of large chunks of lobster. By Sunday night, I was going into a food coma. The combination of eating so much rich food for 10 days and the heat started to get to me. I love this dish, but I barely ate. As usual, hubby ate most of his and mine. He had a chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert.

On Monday, a light breeze returned, making the day more comfortable. We spent the day in the water, or relaxing on the beach. We are getting a little tired of beach days, and are ready to get out and explore, but the heat and lack of winds doesn't make that sound too appealing. The last thing that we want to do right now is go driving around the hot, dusty desert.

We had reservations for Azzurro last night, but really needed a time out from eating huge meals, so we canceled, and ate in. We love the pasta in the wheel, and we hope to get there before we leave.

Today is hubby's big birthday (medicare birthday). He has chosen to go to his favorite restaurant tonight, Chalet Suisse. It is another hot day already, with barely a breeze. The temperatures this week are a little cooler than the first week, so that helps. The day that we arrived it was 93 degrees, with no breeze at all. This week, the temps are in the mid to upper 80's.

Love the rack of lamb at MJ's...... every time I get hungry for MJ's I go onto trip advisor and check the visitor food photos for Mme J's and that really gets me ready for the next trip......

    Happy birthday to your husband.
It seems so strange to see reports regarding no breeze this time of year. Hopefully the breezes return soon. I really enjoy your reports, and thank you for all of the detail. I will definitely try the coconut scallops next month!

Happy B day to Hubby! Let us know how it goes at Chalet Suiise. I've always had a nice dinning experience at Chalet. The service and food is awesome.
