Wacky Wahoo reservations or lack thereof.

A week or so ago, I began the quest for making WW reservations for our upcoming November trip.
Yes, quite far out, but since their reservation system is limited, I figured that i would begin the chore.
Currently I am frustrated and am done with them and their system.

I have yet to get thru.
I have called 9 times in the last 8 days and the calls have not been answered. Maybe they are on vacation? (i ask with sarcasm)

I am sure that the best way for us to make a reservation is to just show up some early evening, and make the reservation in person.

I also wonder ....why do they make it so difficult? Do they realize that this reservation policy is problematic for most/some of us?
Is the manpower or funding so limited that they cannot justify employing a person to answer the phone, say from 1 pm on? Or answering from 4 om on?

Good luck to them, their delicious grouper and wahoo and their delicious cashew cake...i am done.

Great service can save a mediocre meal but not the other way around.

Given the recent spate of restaurant closures on the island, you'd think they'd be sharpening their game up. Guess not.

Their food can't be THAT good to warrant abiding by poor customer service. That's why we've never bothered with them: if they can't take my call or implement a proper reservation system, there are LOTS of restaurants that will be more than willing to take our money by simply picking up the phone.

    Perhaps your concierge can help?
We had a good meal there but the reservation system makes it unlikely that we will return. It's difficult to make a reservation before arriving on the island, but if you are only there a week, it's almost impossible to get a decent time with such short notice. Our choices were very early or too late for us. It wasn't worth the headache and I refuse to plan my trip around trying to get a reservation when it's convenient for them.
At one point they start accepting reservations using an Aruba eguide app, that's the only way we got one, but it is my understanding that they are not doing that anymore.
7 trips in and still finding things to love. #8 will be great in November!

We tried for reservations a couple of years in a row and finally our concierge was able to set us up with reservations. The meal was OK for me and DW loved it. The restaurant was way to noisy so it's not worth the trouble for me to go again.... too many other options.

yes i agree CP , it is noisy.
i had thought that when they expanded a few years ago it would help the congestion and noise.
    but it really did not.

We would pick Driftwood as an alternative to WW jist for ease of making a reservation for a comparable meal and value.

Just looked at the "Driftwood" menu - looks good! We might hit it in November.

I read the other day on another forum that Wacky Wahoo's has been on vacation since July 24. They reopen today. But I understand your frustration Andrea. I had been calling myself to make a reservation for some friends. Why couldn't they put on their answering machine their vacation dates. And when they are open, either you get a busy signal or no one answers.

We are early diners so we get there at 5:30 when they open and have no problem getting a table. By 6:30 when we are finished, the place is packed. I also don't understand why they can't hire someone just to take reservations.

I have a very low threshold when it comes to patience! I probably would have given up after the second call.
