Scott's Brats, Iguana Joes, Surf Club
8/27- We started off the morning with our traditional first breakfast at Scott’s Brats. It was nice to see Scott and Leslie again. We caught up with each other over breakfast and made plans to go out for dinner later this week. Then it was back to our palapa where we spent the rest of the day on the beach. I guess it’s the tropical storms out in the Atlantic, but the winds are much less than normal here. We had a snack at the pool bar and just hung out, walking on the beach, napping, and people watching. We also did a walk from the Ritz to Pelican Pier in the water checking for seaweed. Not too much actually and the bottom was only kind of slimy in a couple of spots, but I’m not sure why. Later in the day we went up to the room and got ready to go have a happy hour drink at Pelican Nest. We arrived at Pelican Nest just as some guys were helping two women on the bar to dance. Not our thing so we left and went up the beach and found Carlito’s. They have a nice happy hour and there were some folks singing karaoke. We met a couple from Long Island and talked with them for a while. Later we went to Bingo’s, a first for us, for dinner. DW had the Grouper and I had the Garlic Gambas (shrimp). We both liked our meals and will probably add Bingo’s to our list of go to restaurants. Finally a nightcap at MooMba’s completed our first full day.

Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, any beach
We found out 2 trips ago that Holiday Inn reserves palapas for IHG Gold and Platinum members. It was nice not having to wait to reserve one each day.

Keep talking Walt, we're all vacationing through you.

Under a palapa on Palm beach
We like Carlitos too. If you like mudslides, theirs are pretty good and usually 2 for 1 when we have been there. They also play country music in the evenings some nights, popular pop-country style like you would hear on the radio at home. This is the only place we've heard that type of music in Aruba. We like it
Thanks for taking the time to share, you are in the area we prefer so I can picture everything.

Jonathan from Pelicans recommended Bingos to us when they were having an event on an Aruba holiday but we never made it. It seems to be a consistent favorite...might be added to the November maybe list.

Keep soaking it all in for us, Walt!

    thanks for sharing walt.

we love visiting scott's brats. leslie and scott are really fine people.
    kind and hospitable.
    they are hardworking too.

enjoy, although the tradewinds have been sucked away.

i am guessing another 48 hrs with lack of decent trade winds.
have another cold beverage to cool you off.

Enjoyed reading your trip report, Palm Beach is one of my favorite places as well. So, I'm right there with you!

I have been to Bingo a few times, liked it a lot. One odd question: have you been to the restrooms there? If you do, you might get a giggle out of it!
