Day 10 in Paradise. We've had some showers almost every day, but they usually pass within 15 minutes. Bully and his precious son, Kevin, took us to Madame Janette's for dinner the other night. The food was absolutely amazing, and the portions were very large. We had leftovers for lunch the next day. Last night we ate at Smokey Joe's. The ribs are great and their portions are enormous. I got the appetizer size ribs and still couldn't eat them all. My husband couldn't finish his huge plate of ribs, and that says a lot. He's a member of the "clean plate club." We had enough leftover for a complete dinner tonight. Yesterday morning, Bully and Kevin dropped us off at Boca Catalina bright and early, before he took Kevin to school. We had some of the best snorkeling we've ever had on any island. There were tons of fish of all sizes, and we saw a large sea turtle. It was great getting there early before all of the snorkel boats showed up, and we were able to get a palapa. Bully sent his brother in law, Hubert to pick us up. He's also a wonderful guy. The first thing he said was that Bully wanted to know what we saw and how we enjoyed it. When we got to the condo, Bully called us to find out if we had a good time and what we saw. They have been so wonderful this past week. We hope to go back to Boca Catalina next week. We were sorry to hear that Cook's won't be ready to open this week. We had reservations for next Tues., but there are so many places to choose, and so little time.

What a great story!

Do you mind sharing what time you arrived at Boca Catalina?

We arrived at Boca Catalina before 8:30. There were a few people further down the beach, but none right in that area. It got a lot busier by 10:00, but it was so great being there by ourselves...so beautiful and peaceful.

Last day....Bully is picking us up to take us to the airport in a few hours. What a fun trip we've had. We went back to Boca Catalina for a second snorkel trip. We got to meet and speak with the author, Daniel Putkowski, at a book signing on Palm Beach a few days ago. It was really neat to talk with him about the characters and story lines in his books. My husband has read three of them while we have been down here. We posed for pictures for him and then he posed for pictures for us. We checked out of Paradise Beach Villas and returned to Manchebo for our last night, so the trip ends as it begins. The weather this past week has not been the best. We've had lots of rain showers, most overnight, but have had some small showers during the day. There were several days when we had downpours in the middle of the afternoon. Lots of clouds this week with sun peaking in and out. It is completely overcast right now. Oops, here comes the rain again. All in all, it has been a wonderful trip. We are already in the planning stage for 2012.

Sounds like a great trip, thanks for sharing!

Where is Boca Catalina in comparison to Palm Beach? Is it the type of place you could spend the whole day? Are there facilities there (restrooms, restaurants, etc.)? Thanks!

Lots of info here on Boca Catalina/Catalina Cove. No facilities with the exception of a couple of palapas and shade of a tree.
