Oh, sorry you lost last night, CP. And that, on your last day.

There is only one way to make it all good again: prepare for your next trip to Aruba and try to win your money back.

    Safe travels home today.

I know the feeling, my last evening is when I typically get all emotional and melancholy. I swear I take triple the amount of sunset pictures that evening. DH always picks on me. I can't even cope on my last morning at breakfast when all the waitstaff and cooks start saying good bye and blessing us, until next time that is.

OK.... so we made it home safe and sound.... long travel day.... but at least it's less than 9 hours door to door.... Check in at the airport was smooth after lines at jetBlue check in and security.... we were at the gate within an hour which left us with a 2 hour 'gate wait' in the crying room.

Wed was our last day... and was overcast most of the day which really didn't impact our beach time. There were a couple of brief showers too and some T storms to the south...... This was probably the 'worst' weather day we ever had on the beach..... yet it was still wonderful... 'cept it was our last day....! Usual lunch at Pega Pega with mojitos for DW and Brights for me. DW had her last massage at Sol de Spa at 3:30 and I hung at the beach until 5. Back to the room to shower and shave and cut myself shaving..... (dummy)... and it took a full hour for the bleeding to stop.... guess my blood was thinned from alcohol. Sunset Grille was set for 8 dinner on the patio and we arrived a half hour early and had a cocktail at Miro Solo. Hilton has done a nice job upgrading this property and minimizing all of the wood that was used in the décor.

Sunset Grille never disappoints and was again, wonderful. The added bonus was that the north pool is done with construction so our view of the grounds was not interrupted with construction barriers.... Crab cakes, Caesar salad, baked stuffed shrimp and a wonderful ribeye... everything was perfect..... coupon for wine for each of us..... lots of food left.... just cannot eat as much as I'd like to sample all the flavors..... Sunset Grille is truly a 5 star restaurant.

Back to the hotel and sat on the patio for a bit before I went to Alhambra and got 'spanked'.... soundly spanked...... I still came back with enough cash to pay all of our room charges.... but no trip to the bank today to deposit 'excess' cash......!

Yday up early for breakfast before check out ... packed and left promptly at 10. Manchebo sent us on our way with 'thank you bags' with granola bars, peanuts, mints, a homemade cookie and pens. A really, really nice touch. Manchebo is our destination for next year.

Was nice to be home last night in our own bed.... but would have been nicer to be in Aruba....

    Countdown....... about 355 days...... OMG.....!!!!

Welcome home CP. I think the thank you bags from Manchebo was a really sweet gesture. It certainly would make you feel that your business is appreciated.

I agree with Peg the "thank you bags" from Manchebo are a really nice touch. Divi AI gives us welcome bags, used to be full of all types of lotions but now just coupons and brochures. The treats in the departure bags I am sure come in handy on the plane. Manchebo sounds like a really nice resort, if I can ever tear myself from Divi I think this would be a good place for us.

I've never had a casino big win. I have to be happy with enough of a small win to cover the next day's expenses and maybe a shopping trip. I started playing video poker recently, but haven't yet hit anything good. My husband says I'm a big "chaser". I like to call it a "dreamer".

Thanks for the trip to Aruba through your reports.

I am glad to hear that Sunset Grille is still excellent. I really enjoyed my meals there thru the years and may have to seriously consider adding that to my list next month. Book the next one and you will "feel" like Aruba is coming back soon. Be well Chuck.
