Well we are here.... daily updated trip update!

Yesterday was a tough day because I am not a happy flyer, but the wonderful Jet Blue pilot got us here nice and safe. After a short break of renting a car, and getting a tad lost trying to find where to meet the owner of the house we are renting, we finally came here...which already feels like our home. This house is so beautiful. Awesome backyard with a gorgeous pool that lights up at night, spacious three bedroom house, a little guest house, three bathrooms, outdoor shower, grill.... computer with SKYPE!!! This place is great, we love it.

Yesterday we did our normal stocking up with food and booze from Lings and Sons, spend less on booze here than in the U.S which is always a good thing.

Last night we ate at Madame Janettes, and had a wonderful meal of Goulash appetizer followed with their Surf and Turf, and washed it down with a delicious Muscat sparkling reisling.

Arrving back here we decided to hit the pool for a few more hours and then around midinight we all collapsed.

Today we just let our bodies wake up whenever, finally got up and around by 8. Made a little breakfast (with a miami vice...well I AM on vacation), and have been sitting out by the pool in the sun ever since. Took a little break to play catch up on Skype and Facebook, and wanted to post a few things on here.

The weather here, so far, is as expected although a little windier than normal but it feels SO much better than 20 degrees with 3 feet of snow everywhere. I can feel this trip is going to fly, they always do.

Thats it for now, I'll post more as the day wears on. We're thinking lunch somehwere by the new mall, do a little shopping and then it's to Texas De Brazil.

    Report back later!

Well we are on day 4 of our trip now, and I don't have much to complain about (which is a rarity for me hahah).

This house is absolutely beautiful, I don't remember how we came across it but it was over the internet. We are here with 3 friends of ours, so there is 5 of us in the house and it is big enough where we're not in each others face all the time.

The internet here is kinda wonky, so I haven't been able to get on alot so I'll have to post updates in bunches......

    Day Two

We just hung around the house for the majority of the day, I feel as though the sun here is even stronger than on the beach because I am already burnt. It dosen't usually take much to cook me, but even wearing SPF 45 my arm (and only my arm oddly enough) found a way to get crisp.

We went out to dinner a little earlier than last night because we wanted to browse the new mall so we headed off to Texas De Brazil, found the parking odd over there, cars everwhere, so I parked off the side of the road where others were parked. It was free, so thats cool.

The mall has really been built up since we were here last year, so many new stores. We didn't get a chance to go upstairs, but it looked like there were stores up there as well. I was looking for a nice little hat but it seemed as though every store only sold small or medium hats. Thats not gonna work for my big head. I found a small store near Aruba Aloe that sold some really nice caribbean shirts, and they had a 50% off rack. Even a 1/2 price some were still $50-60 but I found one really nice one for $35 so I grabbed it and decided to wear that to Texas De Brazil.

We ate there last night and really fully enjoyed our meal there. This year I was taken aback by the price. The basic price is $45 a person for the rodizio and the salad bar (which had tons of great side dishes). However, beware that if you order a pitcher of sangria (which we were talked into getting since three of us ordered a glass (which is $9 a glass), the price for the pitcher was $45. I got a glass of cognac afterwards which was $10 (Navan), but the other two that they talked about were $25 and $45 per glass. When all was said and done and we split the bill, it wound up being about $125 for the two of us.

We came back and just relaxed in the pool, had a few Amstel Brights and went to bed a bit early.

    Day Three

Yesterday we had a lazy day with a late breakfast, hung around the pool. I came inside to read a bit and took a small nap. The sun is starting to get to me, and wearing me out a little more each day. I'm not complaining, I love having the time to hang out, take a nap, eat late, wake up late. It's so nice being on vacation.

We wanted to walk around our old stomping grounds (Holiday Inn), so we called "Elvis", our taxi guy, and he picked us up and dropped us off at Playalinda where we were going to eat dinner. After hearing about a 45 minute wait for Azzurros, we walked over to the H.I. and went into the shops there for a bit. I was looking for info on when Giovanni was going to be performing, but we only saw that he was there tonight outside by the pool. We wanted to see when he was going to be in the lounge near the casino but couldn't find that anywhere. It's a bummer because he was so much fun and hilarious last year.

We made our way back to Azzuros and ate dinner. The three of us ordered the Spaghetti Formaggio (sp), and was wonderful as always. The wait staff was a bit slow, but it was worth it. We really enjoy that restaurant.

We called our guy back and came back to the house to hang out and swim a little more. We wound up staying up really late, drank a bit too much, and am paying for it now. I'm not sure what we are doing today, two of our group went to the Divi to go to the beach but us three stayed behing to hang around the pool.

So far this trip is wonderful, I love it here and don't want to even think about having to come home to Jersey where there is bad weather. I had a call from a customer and I asked him how the weather was and he grumbled and then said "Well where are you". Once I told him, I heard him pause and then "jerk". Hahahah. But he is on his way to St. Marteen so he was getting out of there as well.

Thats about it for now, I'll ask my friend how he found this house, and I will definately post pics when I get home. I don't have the camera cable here, and feel funny hooking it up to this computer (this isn't a laptop, it comes with the house).

    Talk to you soon!!!
