1st timers looking for the right place!

Hello!

I actually made a thread on hotels in the main forum the other day (felt really silly not scrolling down enough to see the entire section devoted to hotels! ). I have gotten a good start going through all of the websites, but because there are so many I am getting confused so I thought I'd come back here to the experts to see if I can get some direction!

My husband and I are in our mid 30's. Easy-going, laid back Deadheads We aren't rich but have expensive taste. For example, we just got our tax return back and our treat to ourselves was a 250 dinner at the most expensive steak house in N.H. We like the finer things, you could say.

So what we are hoping for is a mid range ( price) hotel that is on the beach, has an all inclusive option ( we would want breakfast, possibly lunch, and drinks but want to hit the nicer restaurants for dinner) and isn't nazi like about the smoking. We don't mind smoking on the balcony, as we only smoke when we drink anyway. I would like it to be within walking distance to a casino or something with some nightlife.

What's our best bet?

For what you are looking for in a resort: Bucuti

For what you are looking for with nightlife: anywhere on Palm Beach.

For what you are looking for in a resort with nightlife and all inclusive option, imo would look at:

Riu
Occidental
Westin (AI optional)

For something laid back with no hassles for smokers and all inclusive, close to downtown Oranjestad for nightlife I would look at the Divi or Tamarijn.

You got it!!

It was really quite exceptional. It ranks right up with Gibson's or Capital Grille Chicago!

Cool Don't discount the Holiday Inn

The Holiday Inn offers a very reasonable all inclusive option depending on your budget (although I would not consider it a 5 star hotel i.e. in the same class as the Riu, Westin etc).

Capital Grille in Boston is great, and doesn't even seem like a distant relative of Longhorn!
