3 Hotel Marriott Complex

Hello Everyone,

I am staying at the Marriott Surf Club at the end of May, and I was wondering if we are allowed to use everything that all 3 hotels provide. I know restaurants are open to everyone. I am inquiring more about using the pools at the other locations as well as any activities or general amentities that the other hotels have to offer.

Thanks.

Each place (hotel, Ocean Club, Surf Club) has its own pool that can only be used if you are staying in that facility and you can only rent a hut that is assigned to your facility.

During the high season (I don't believe May falls into that category) it is difficult to get space on the beach. You only pay for huts that you reserve in advance. A certain number of huts are for reservations and the other half are on a daily first come basis. If one of the beach staff gets you a chair then tipping is expected.

Many people like the Lazy River at the Surf Club and originally anyone who was staying at the Marriott could use it. However, over the years the rules have changed to today's rule that the Lazy River is only for Surf Club guests.

Enjoy your stay at the Marriott!

for the stellaris - you can use their pool (since no one is checking) but you're restricted from the beach area as they require a room number for reserving their palapas. i believe their fitness center may be shared with the ocean club.....but don't qoute me on that.

generally, other than the casino/restaraunts/shops, you're restricted to your own resort.

To add to the information that Arubalisa quoted me on:

I am not sure if they let you use the beach chairs at any of the three resorts anymore. I don't think so?? At the Surf Club they now give you a tag that you must place on your chairs. So if you go out early you no longer need your towels. Just ensure that someone doesn't take your chair, place the tag in a spot that is easily seen.

Surf Club they check for your arm bracelet for the lazy river. Each resort has a different colour towel so that would be a definate give away when going to another pool.

For the free huts at the Surf Club, half of the free ones are given out at 7:30am and the other half of the free ones are given out at 4:00pm (I think that is the time).

follow up to randi's last comment - you cannot use the beach chairs/umbrellas at the other resorts anymore. at the stellaris, they give you a card that you slide into the umbrella pole claiming your spot. you have to get there by 7am to reserve your space. you do have the option of renting one by paying for it and not having to wait on line.

Do you know if they "rent" the huts at the surf club after the free ones are gone? Can you rent them for the entire week or only 1 day at a time?

Also, is October "high season"?

Thanks!!
Linda

The way they do it is you pay $15 per day and you can only book two days at a time. The booking is done at 10am and you can only book for another two days once your first two days are over. They have done this in a way to enable more people to have access to the huts. However, the lounge chairs do have little roofs on them (called Bimini's) to help with the shade.
