    Question All Aruba Hotels?

I have been trying to book a Hotel for March 2014. Have a time share at occidental can't use till Nov. I love to stay at Raddison but, can't find anything less than $451.00 per night. I know I should have booked earlier but checking all booking sights I found out that they charge 14% service charge on all rooms plus the 3% city tax and 11% aruba tax. I don't really mind the tax but service charge if you can't pay maid service at 450 per night I really think a little overcharging. Is this policy of all hotels in aruba I've been over 20 times guess I never saw service charge on bill.

We just booked the Amsterdam Manor and they charge 20.45 % taxes and service charge per night.

I do know that the Radisson has raised their prices. As a rule I have found the tax and service charge to vary on up to almost 24%. What you describe is above and beyond that.

This does not include the $3 per night environmental levy.

when you write "service charge" are you talking about the add on that a "booking company, such as priceline or cheapcaribbean or orbitz might add? or a service charge that the hotel/resort adds? and if it is the hotel service charge does that go towards the housekeeper or something else?

The exact numbers are 14% service charge,9.5%aruba tax and 3% city tax its 26.5% to me is why do they need 14% service charge at 451 per night and who gets the money?

Where did you get the info from?
Are you sure that is not a typo and should be $3 environment levy?
I was not aware of any "city" taxes in Aruba.

Just another way to sneak a few bucks out of your pocket. Quote one price and add fees!

I guess my point is why they need 14% service charge.
