Any new news on the sale of the Radisson?

Hey - I am wondering if anyone has any new news on the sale of the Radisson?
Did it sell? If so, who purchased it?
i have been hearing many rumors - (sold to Hyatt, closing down for 2 weeks, local investors etc) we are traveling in April and I don't want a situation similar to the Weston reservations being rebooked last minute, etc.
    any insight is greatly appreciated!

the most recent talk has been that the radisson "may" be sold to an Aruban Investment group.
that talk also states that no jobs would be lost and n closing in the ownership transition.

    but, that is just talk.
there is nothing firm as far as i know.

My wife and I just returned from 10 days at the Radisson. The latest story is a local group of investors in a group with Hilton is going to purchase the hotel, possible announcement the week of March 15. The rumor is that Hilton will manage the hotel, and major renovations will occur between July and December 2015 including replacement of the Aruba Tower, removal of the Bonaire Tower, construction or a new tower along the front of the property. None of this information has been confirmed as the negotiations of the sale are still in progress.

That would be quite an aggressive renovation plan.... especially since the total property was renovated within the last 5 years. Five months in Aruba doesn't get a lot done with construction........ Just sayin'.....

Losing the Aruba tower would be losing a piece of history..... was the first on Palm Beach as the Aruba Caribbean Hotel...Opened 1959!

Any new news on the sale of the Radisson?-aruba-caribbean-hotel.jpg

The rooms in the Aruba tower ae so nice too. It really would be a shame for that to go away. We stayed there in November and it had a recently refurbished feel.
I have seen some really good deals for a standard room no view for later this year. Most of them arrefundable if you book through the Radisson site. We already have a timeshare for our trip but I really wouldn't hesitate to book with Radisson. I think even with the sale, it will all work out. It's such a nice property in a great location. The only reason we aren't staying there is because I found an unbeatable timeshare rental.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Tracey, I agree.... it will all work out. If you're considering the Radisson, these guys always have great packages for the Radisson.... http://www.aruba4u.com/
