Best Hotel

Hi Everyone!

I'll be traveling to Aruba in August with a family of 5 (three kids 17 17 and 12) and would like to get opinions on the best place to stay.

Ideally, we are looking for a very upscale, laid back, and relaxing resort that isn't overly crowded and has a beautiful beach/ enough things to do.

Be prepared for 100 different answers! Haha Aruba is one of those places that feels like home if you go long enough. You begin to know doormen, housekeepers, etc etc you get pretty possessive of your "home" but l know you will get some great feedback! For teens I would say to look along palm beach...that would be my suggestion. Have a blast!!!

With a family I would recommend a timeshare for added space. If you want upscale I would opt for surf or ocean club.....which are Marriott properties.also too divi Phoenix or divi golf village....divi properties.

Casa del mar which is not as upscale has some 2 bedroom places and costa linda which is not as upscale as the Marriott properties has some 3 bedroom units. By all means costa linda and casa del mar are very nice indeed.

Upscale hotels would be Marriott , Hyatt , Radisson.

Aw heck. I forgot to mention playa linda...that too is nice and have 2 bedroom units, unknown if ther are 3 bedrooms.


I also forgot to mention the Riu
It is quite upscale and all inclusive.


And....the occidental, although all inclusive it might be just your ticket! It is very nice!

Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt? What's it like? how does it compare to the marriott radisson or westin?

The Hyatt is wonderful... very top shelf and upscale. We don't like the lack of real balconies. Other than that it's one of the best on Palm Beach with numerous dining options. With only 350 +/- rooms it's comparable in size to the Radisson and smaller than the Westin and Marriott.

How about Tierra del sol? Any other luxury places like that off the beaten path?

It's probably too big for you and maybe booked already, but our family loved The Aruba House. You can search it online. You'll want to rent a car as it is in the residential area north of the resorts. Sleeps 10 and has a big pool. As cheap as 2 nice rooms at Marriott Stellaris. I'm not sure about the pricing at the Surf or Ocean clubs and how they compare.

Nice thought, but not certain it would have the variety needed for the kids.
