Best Resort for On-Site Snorkeling?
We're considering a trip to Aruba in April/May. We have 3 kids including a 9 and 7 year old, and of priority to us is good on-site snorkeling with ideally nice amenities for the kids (beach area, pools, etc.; lazy river?).
If anyone could offer recommendations I would sincerely appreciate it. I keep seeing mixed reviews about the snorkeling at some resorts. Thanks in advance! |

Aruba does not have what you are looking for in that there are no resorts with snorkeling directly off the beach.
The resorts on Palm beach, Eagle beach, Manchebo beach and Druif beach all have plain white sandy bottoms. There are no places for fish or critters to hide and the reefs in these areas are too far off shore to swim, as well as dangerous due to boat traffic and currents. The only resort on the island with a "lazy river" would be the Marriott Surf Club. If you stay there, there is snorkeling up the coast, about a 10 minute car ride away. More snorkel from the beach info in the area north of the Marriott and others http://www.aruba.com/forum/tags/snorkeling%20boca%20catalina.html http://www.aruba.com/forum/tags/snorkeling%20beach.html There is a little bit of snorkeling on Palm Beach south of the Riu near the Divi Phoenix resort. However getting to that area would depend upon your child's swimming abilities see http://www.aruba.com/forum/f10/snorkeling-question-44945/#post173630
