I will be going to Aruba for the first time on my honeymoon next summer. We are considering either the Bucuti Beach Resort or the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa. Could somone please let me know what they thought of either of these places? Which do you think is better?

While I think they are both fine for low rises, I think Bucuti is perfect for honeymooners. Susan and Ewald do a great job of keeping a very upscale, yet intimate, feel.

Please make sure you do the dinner on the beach. It's very romantic.

Spent my honeymoon at Bucuti in September of 2004. It was awesome. Best beach, never crowded. Manchebo is probably cheaper but not as nice. I'd definitely recommend springing for the tara suites at bucuti for your honeymoon.

Bucuti wins hands down (imo)

Manchebo is ok, but is not upscale at all and the rooms are typical motel rooms
(clean but basic)
Manchebo beach is wonderful.
Paul and I have stayed at Manchebo a couple of times and were very happy.

Not enough superlatives to describe Bucuti for its intimacy, its beach and its staff.


Usually not many kids at manchebo.
Bucuti, if i am not mistaken is adults only (might be more like adults only suggested)

My suggestion for a honeymoon =Bucuti.

Manchebo and Bucuti are neighbors too.

I'm a big fan of the Manchebo (though I've not stayed there since the big room re-do which looks very nice indeed)

For a honeymoon, I'd choose the Tara suites at the Bucuti first. It's a close race (for me) between regular Bucuti and the Manchebo.

The Manchebo is a great place with an excellent beach but the rooms are smaller than at the Bucuti. But, of price is an issue, both resorts are on the same great beach
