Can anyone recommend a good hotel

Hey all. So as of right now, we are up in the air about our trip due to a snowstorm heading to Jersey. Fingers crossed we will be on a plane headed to paradise on Wednesday, as planned. Our back up is Saturday, the 15th as far as flying. But, Marriott Stellaris may not be able to accommodate us is we change our flight. We have stayed at the Renassiance once, and like it but we prefer to be in the high rises right on the beach. And we usually choose Marriott so we can use points. So we don't have much experience at any of the other hotels. A lot of them will be able to accommodate us, but just wanted to see what you guys had to say since you are all experienced Aruba travelers. Thank you!

If it is Marriott Rewards you are using, you can also use them at the Ocean Club and Surf Club next door and the Renaissance downtown. If memory serves me correctly a room at the Stellaris and lock-offs at both the Ocean/Surf Clubs cost the same number of rewards points.

Also get out tomorrow if you can. US Air has dropped change fees pre-storm.

Thank you both. The Hyatt & Ocean Club have openings so we are going to do some research.

The Hyatt is the nicest property on the island IMO, but does not have a balcony unless you reserve a suite. We have stayed there 3x and really enjoyed everything about it.

The Radisson is GREAT but they are currently undergoing an update that won't be complete until later in the year. They have completed 2 of 3 of the towers with the Aruba tower left. We love the radisson Aruba tower because of the balcony/views and they have the best beach area on Palm beach. We are going back this summer and staying at the Westin to conserve some $$$.

All that said, all 3 are great.

Hotel

I stayed at the Radison and it was great, not in town but the beach hotel. They also have their own private Island that runs a boat shuttle every few minutes. There are 2 beaches on their Island, one adult and one family. We mostly stayed pool side but the beach area at the hotel was good too, it is right next to the Pools (2) of them. Coming back Jan 22, 2011 for a week but staying at a friends home this time. Have fun, we did. Michael

If you need just a night or 2, the Holiday Inn is next to the Marriot and you will pay around $125/nt.

If you do stay at the HI, request one of the updated towers. The curaco tower gets poor reviews these days and is in need of a makeover...

the original poster is now in aruba and did not have to change hotels as her flight was a-ok.
