Thumbs up Different Divis

HI,

Just wanted your input on the difference in the Divi Resorts. I have RCI points that will allow you to trade into the Divi Resorts and Casa del Mar. Occidental forces you to go all inclusive.

In your opinion, which Divi should I be looking to trade for?

Cheers,
Susan

my first choice would be the DIVI PHOENIX as it is right on the beach.
my 2nd choice would be DIVI DUTCH as it is pretty close to the beach but is not as upscale....certainly not dumpy.
my 3rd choice would be DIVI VIllage /Golf. some of the units greatly need a refurbishment and many do not..many are band new.......but it is a bit of a walk to the beach that is across the street.

OR
a 2 bedroom Presidentials at Casa Del Mar, although imo none of their units rival DIVI, but their beach is awesome.

Would depend upon--

1. Palm Beach OR Druif Beach

2. Oceanfront OR Walk to the beach?
  • Divi Phoenix is on Palm beach, on the beach and has the new "beach towers"
  • Divi Village is directly across the street from the beach between the Divi Resort and Tamarijn. Units are in the process of being renovated.
  • Divi Links are the new units but furthest from the beach
  • Divi Dutch Village is set BEHIND the Tamarijn and a short walk to the beach, but limited palapas if that is a "must" for you
This map shows you the location of the resorts with the exception of the Phoenix which is on Palm Beach

Question Divi Selection

Sounds like I should opt for the Divi Phoenix. Are they all timshares with full kitchens and a king sized bed? Can you use the facilities at all the Divis?

Thanks,
Sue

i do not think DIVI facility use is interchangeable.

the divi phoenix 1 bedrooms have a king sized bed and the kitchens are complete kitchens.

Correct...the Phoenix does not offer an all inclusive package optional and do not have reciprocity of facilities with the other Divi properties.

Thumbs up Thanks for the info

Your information really cleared things up for me. I am off to the RCI website to see what is available.

Thanks,
Susan

P.S.

Is it on par with the Renaissance?

In answer to your Renaissance on par question..........

the renaissance suites/timeshare units are not as "on par" (is that diplomatic/politically correct) as the DIVI Phoenix or the Divi Golf Links timeshares.

the kitchens are more complete at the DIVI.
the 1 bedrooms are larger at DIVI.

what the Renaissance "has" is their private island!!

please do not yell at me .........i love the renaissance

and this is only my opinion

Thumbs up On Par

Andrea,

On the contrary, I appreciate your honesty! We have only had experience with the Renaissance and the Marriott Ocean Club. We love both, but prefer the Ren because of that Private island. That's why we own two weeks there.

On the other hand, we own other timeshares in NY and Fl that could be traded with RCI for Divi, and I think any vacation in Aruba is worth taking! So happy that the Divi Phoenix is such a great place! I will keep you posted on what trade I get. We will be going to the Renaissance Aruba in April. With RCI I think I will trade out for something at the Divi next Fall.

Cheers,
Susan

One other big diff is the Divi Phoenix is a high-rise and is in the thick of the Palm Beach hubbub. The Divi Golf and Dutch are in the low rise area and a lot quieter
