I was reading the board the last few days. Someone mentioned the golf cart shuttle service could be better and they had to wait 30 minutes for one. Please note, the golf cart shuttles are out of the Alhambra Casino (although a Divi property), NOT part of the all inclusive at the Tamarijn and Divi Aruba Resorts. Their sole purpose was to pick up and deliver customers to and from the CASINO from the Tamarijn, Divi Dutch Village, Divi Village & Golf Beach Resort, and the Divi Aruba Resorts. Due to the wonderful hospitality of the Arubans/Divi Resorts, they have extended their complimentary service to bring people to and from the Divi Aruba and Tamarijn lobby areas on their way to and from the casino. This is a secondary gain ONLY, from having the golf cart shuttles go by. Just 2 years ago, they added on room delivery and not just stops at the lobby entrances. Also, if you have a large group, best to plan on taking several different carts or have some of your younger people walk as you won't all fit on one cart. Again, as the carts are not part of the all inclusive, the golf cart shuttle drivers appreciate tips.

Is it true that if you are staying at CDM or ABC, you can walk to Divi (which Divi?) and take a shuttle to the grocery stores and downtown for free? Then you can take the shuttle back by saying you are going to the casino and then walk back to your resort?

no it is not true

the shuttle service is for DIVI guests.

Thank you. I would rather not have made a fool of myself. Someone wrote me a bunch of tips in an email and some of them seemed a little off so I thought I'd check with experts.

i also should have elaborated more, but was rushed last night trying to get some stuff done.
the divi golf cart/tram shuttle is for Divi guests.
it runs around the tamarijn, the divi village, dutch village, the golf village, the divi ai and the alhambra shopping bazaar.
i have never seen the tram go all of the way over as far as the grocery stores, however i have seen it go all of the way to the stop lights at the big intersection across from Fatum and Sun Plaza.

yes, folks that are not staying at the Divi have been known to hop on and snag a ride.
but, it is not appropriate.

We are staying at the divi Golf and Beach resort. And I heard about the golf cart use but didnt think they go to that far down. Thanks for the insight. I am so grateful to have found this forum. Has anyone been to Matthews?

Andrea, interesting, I have never seen the tram go to the grocery stores, but as an owner at DV it would be nice to have them go to Ling and Sons,,,,,,maybe I will have to suggest that when I get there in November. With the complex getting bigger every year they should do that to accommodate their guests !!!!!
