Thanks for the education. Always imagined the HR as an American institution.
Wonder if there are any in the UK.

ORANJESTAD Southwest Horeca Development is the winner of the contract for a new hotel on the former location of Bushiri Hotel.
Southwest Horeca Development is an Aruban LLC. Apparently this HRH& C will be a franchise, as are some other "brand name" Aruba resorts. HRH &C is specifically looking to expand into the Caribbean (elsewhere as well).

We started going to Aruba in 2001 and the Bushiri just kept looking worse every year. Lets just call it part of the downtown,we keep the low-rise the low-rise. It sure will be nice to see the blight gone-bring it on Hard Rock!

Excellent point, especially in that I read
"The property only runs up to the current gate of the container harbor from APA. The construction of the hotel is therefore not bound to the planned relocation of the container harbor to Barcadera and must also be ready in two years."
to mean the resort must be completed in two years--regardless of whether the container harbor is moved to Barcadera by then, if ever, or not.

There is a Hard Rock cafe in London or at least there was in 1990. It was the only place we could find that had cold beer and ice in their drinks. It was a couple blocks from the Intercontinental hotel we stayed at.

I would like to see another hotel like the Divi resort go in, personally. With Tiki huts and the all naturale look if you know what I mean. I think that fits into Aruba's ambiance better.

Having said that, what a good addition to Aruba's economy this will be!

actually, Ralph, most of it is owned by Seminole Indians who purchased the chain with the exception of London & Vegas a few years ago. But who cares, I love the Hard Rock. The one in Vegas is the best, though the one in Mexico makes the best fajitas ever, lol...

Looks like a small stretch of beach for a 300+ room hotel. I can envison the "palapa battles" already.
