If the Holiday Inn is Awful.........

We're booked at the HI for two weeks --- if by chance it's really not working out for us, any suggestions for another place that's reasonable and not AI?

Next door at the Playa Linda timeshare if they have anything available last minute at a bargain? Or the opposite end the Divi Phoenix?

Windy:

The HI is not awful. They have newly upgraded rooms. Food is not fine dining, but there is something for everyone. Breakfast and lunch are very good and the speciality restaurant is very good as well. For the price, you should be able to enjoy what they offer in the AI and still afford to eat out at some of the wonderful places within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and beach staff excellent. Enjoy.

Thanks, everyone, for the reassurance! There are so many posts about the non-upgraded rooms in the Curacao tower, and needing to upgrade for the other two buildings, and having to get up at 5:30 to reserve a palapa. (no way is that possible! grin!) That sun is just too darned strong not to have a shady spot! I had begun to have some worries.
We are not doing the AI, maybe just the breakfast plan, as we love to try different places at night.
Yes, we will be in Aruba, and on the beach, and that's why we're going!!!!! :-)
If the room's even just ok, we'll be fine!

Send a message via Skype™ to Andrea J.
the rooms are OK, not glamorous, not high end, but clean and OK.

once you check in, if you hate your room, go to the desk and ask for a different one.

we have stayed there pre and post timeshare nights and have been comfortable.

If you can't handle the HI, go to biddingfortravel.com, read up and bid on a hotel via priceline. I picked up the Marriott for $100 a night next week. I would imagine similar rates would be available if they still have rooms.
