Where should I stay?

I am arriving one day before my family meets for 1 week at Tamarijn in June.

I want to do the Kukoo Kunuku that night to learn some of the bars and meet new people.

Can someone recommend a reasonably priced place to stay that is walking distance to a beach? Ideally, a different beach than the one near Tamarijn? I do not want anything fancy, simply a place to put my head down at night and secure my luggage during the day.

Try MVC Eagle Beach - right behind Tulip Restaurant and just across the road from Eagle Beach. Very basic, but clean and pleasant. We are booked for our third stay there in January 2009.

Try the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. It is located right on Palm Beach, is reasonably priced and the Kukoo Kunuku bus picks people up right in front of the hotel.
