    Smile Manchebo Resort

We are planning a first time trip to Aruba. Have done the all inclusive resorts in Mexico and want something different. #1 priority is the beach. We want to be close if not right on the beach, and be able to walk barefoot . Would like to avoid highrise resorts, and want to be able to walk to some of the restaurants and bars. Any feedback on Manchebo resort ? Or other sugesstions.

have never stayed at manchebo, but have stayed next door....you are right on the beach, have a couple nice restaurants at your resort and a casino right next door as well as a couple small shops and restaurtants.
    You will love it !!!!

Thanks for all the advice. Sounds like its just what we're looking for. Are most of the restaurants casual, meaning shorts & sandels? (The all inclusive resorts we have been to, require men to wear shoes and long pants. ( My husband has a hard time with that on a beach vacation!)

On my first trip I packed a large suitcase and carry on for all the clothes I figured I would need. I was wrong! Now I pack a small suitcase and bring stuff for the beach, shorts, golf shirts, sneakers, boat shoes and flip flops and I still only wear half of that. I wear the boat shoes, shorts and a collared shirt when going to a restaurant.

Manchebo is wonderful. We've stayed there several times. The beach is incredible, very quiet and never crowded. We love the staff there. They have a new restaurant called Ike's Bistro, which is terrific. French Steakhouse is also located there, and they are very good. There is plenty to do right in that area. I take a couple pairs of capri pants with me, but my husband wears shorts wherever we go.

I think we all do the same..on our first time to the island, I brought dressy clothes for dinners out...now I bring shorts, dressy tops and casual tops and bathing suits...and only flipflops......suitcase is still overpacked....take 1/2 of what I wear, can't seem to break the habit of.."well, maybe I'll wear this when I go out to dinner".....wrong !!!
