Going to post this question in the GENERAL section too.
Is the Marriott hotel pool going to be undergoing renovations?
I emailed Marriott and got a non answer reply...........just telling me that the room renovations were completed and lovely.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Me wonders if perhaps they have shelved the idea of renovating the swimming pool? Their website http://www.arubaplayground.com/renovation/hotels/hotel-information/travel/auaar-aruba-marriott/Pool-Area-19.html states:
"Pool Area
The Pool Area features a spacious pool deck with very comfortable deck chairs for a perfect lounge moment with your favorite book, or to get an afternoon snooze. Big news is the addition of a slide for our younger generation and those young at heart. The slide will be placed in the rock formation side of our free form pool. At this point there is no set date for upgrading the pool facilities.
Have a playful day at the pool."

FAQ
"When will the renovation be completed?
The renovation activities are scheduled to be completed by November 2008. ...

Will your renovation be very obvious?
There are construction activities taking place at the North Tower of the Resort, finalizing the guest rooms renovation in this wing of the hotel. Our La Vista Restaurant, also located in the North Tower, will be reborn in October. The construction area is fully fenced and we are striving to limit the disturbance from noise in the pool area. ...

Where will the construction work take place during my stay?
Construction work is taking place at La Vista Restaurant, located in the North Tower of the Resort. Noise and visibility of the construction work are being kept to a minimum by placing protective walls to cover this area. The Lobby area will be affected in September, however the Lobby will remain fully operational and inconvenience will be kept to a minimum. ...

Will the pool and beach be impacted?
The beach will not be affected. The disturbance from noise in the pool area due to the construction activities at La Vista will be kept to a minimum. The construction area for this restaurant is completely fenced in."
[Note no mention of any work on the pool.]

Did your friend mix the two resorts?
Until last week it was true, but the other way around...
(OC guests needed to use the Stellaris pool)
