marriott ren. - beach?

i know that many of the forum members are owners at the ren (i guess it was once a timeshare?) and perhaps they can help answer my question....

i know the beach is accessible only by the boat. what i wanted to know is if there's any facilities at the beach such as a bar, beach chairs, umbrellas, waited service, showers, towels, and restaruant?

FattyPatty,
It is a hotel on 2 &4th floors and suites which are 1,3 and 5th floors. It is a hotel and timeshare. It was once the Sonesta Suites and now its a Marriott property.
The island has a restuarant, beach chair service, tennis courts, gift shop, diving shop with Red Sails, showers, bathroom, nature trail, hammocks, shaded areas, great boat ride, towel service ( free) nice menu...an adult beach area and a family beach area, volley ball court, kyaks to rent, floats to rent,...sounds good, huh...it is !!! cindyo

If the island is only accessible via boat, then do most people change into their swimwear at the beach or just ride the boat in their trunks?

Mixed bag, kids ride over in their suits. I wear my suit over with a cover up on. DH just wears suit and a T shirt. You see lots of people doing their own thing.
Ride takes 10-14 minutes, sometimes you get a little wet. Thats the fun of it.

Is this the male version of cover up nowadays?

Dh dresses the same way as well and always wondered if it were proper.

10-14 min ride? that's a long time for such a small island. i guess the island is pretty far the hotel. i presume the boat works like clockwork?

Every 15 minutes, stops at marina tower and suites dock. Its a transport boat, doesn't go fast. Not a speed boat. Best boat drivers are George and Rigo...Kids love them.

How far of a walk is the boat launching area from the marina tower? Do you have to walk outside the hotel complex? Where is the tower...is it across the street from the main hotel where that other casino is?
