Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino Hotel

Just got to the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino yesterday. We got to the hotel around noon. Check-in is at 4pm. The room was not ready. Fine, we got here early so we ate lunch and went to the beach. We came back in at 5 and the room was still not ready. Not a good first impression.

We are supposed to have a premier ocean view room. Is that supposed to be one of the rooms on the end of the building (since building is U shaped)? We can see the ocean however, we also have a pool view. Basically, we are in the middle of the U shape. Just curious as this is the first time here at the particular hotel. Thanks!

BTW, anyone new to Aruba don't let this discourage you from coming here, this island is magical!!! lol

    welcome again melissa!

if this is the premier room, fine, if not .
if i were in your shoes, i would inquire about being moved to the ocean view room (not pool view) OR ask for the difference $ to be refunded.
persistence, patience and kindness may get you far.

sorry that your first impression was not good.

An ocean front room and an ocean view room are two different animals, at least at the Surf Club and Holiday Inn. Don't be discouraged if you find out the Stellaris is the same. Besides, it's only a hotel room.

Yep, ocean view and and front are so different its scary and often cause people a great amount of frustration when they think ocean view is ocean front. I stayed in a room years ago that was called " partial ocean view," and sure it was when you stood on the balcony and looked at an angle I could see the water, lol.
