Just read about changes to Marriott reward programs. For those who use reward points to travel there are changes coming on April 8th basically changing the valuation of hotel categories. Lots of changes in valuation and redemption. So.... Book your hotels before April 7th. Many changes in hotels moving up in category ie; category 5 becoming 6. Also new category 9.... You can all guess what that is. This certainly affects us.
I'm a lifetime Platinum Marriott Rewards member and owner at the Surf Club, and it makes me sick that they are changing the awards program structure. I'm beginning to think that just like with the airlines, the loyal customer is not as valuable as one is led to believe. It's kind of sad for those who accumulate points for vacations, but it seems to be the new standard for all frequent traveler programs. It's like a "pay us more for your decreased benefits" program.
