anyone know where this hotel is....I'm thinking it is the one across from Black Hog....went to see Folles Brassiere (sp) what ever...and I think it is it...
mvc eagle beach hotel is across the street from eagle beach and next door to suiss chalet restaurant
the dinner show you are talking about.........................................was that the female impersonator show at the royal cabana casino? i loved that show!
that show has been gone maybe 4 yrs now and the casino gone about 3.
i dunno michelle
the place although very clean and very hospitible is very very basic.
it is right there at eagle beach
it does have a great restaurant TULIP
it does have a cute little bar area
but the grounds are BASIC
the pool is tiny (maybe 700 gallons) and maybe 3' deep.
i hate to recommend or not recommend.
but if the price is right, maybe.
i will PM you
andrea
Thanks Andrea....I saw it had tulip rest. at the hotel and figured for 4 young ones...basic is good...they will be in the ocean more than the pool anyway....or should I say..the one girls mom will be staying with me at Divi Village so I would suspect that they all will be at our pool anyway......waiting for your PM...
i just asked my son
he is 23 and is very non frills
he thinks the place is only ok
he and friends stayed there a few yrs ago when their maritime training ship was in o'stad for 5 days.
he did not want to stay at lacabana as he knew that i am known there.
in other words he wanted to be anonymous. hahahahahaha
he said the place was clean period.
If I can add my 2 cents, we have stayed at MVC 3 times and are planning to stay there again when we make our next trip (not yet planned).Andrea is right ... it is very, very basic, but it is also very clean. Staff is wonderful there, and although there are very few amenities, it is right across the street from Eagle Beach.
We have stayed in both a family unit and a double room. The family unit consisted of two connecting rooms that share one huge bathroom. The double room had a hair dryer. The rooms have a mini fridge, tv and a/c.
We, too, are fine with no frills - after all how much time do you spend in your room? They have a computer in the bar area that is available for hotel guests to use free of charge. The pool is tiny - like a kiddie pool - but with the beach across the street, no one ever used it while we were there.
Our 21 year old son and his friend traveled with us and were fine with the hotel. They used the bus or took a taxi to go places not in walking distance. If the two young couples only need a place to sleep and don't care about "bells and whistles", then they should be fine with MVC.![]()
It's run by the same mgmt/owners at Amsterdam Manor. It's very, very basic (no frills as Andrea said) but it is clean and well run. The pool is more like a kiddie pool but....it is right across the street from Eagle Beach. There are a few palapas on the beach to use but they will have to carry their chairs across the street (MVC will let you do take their lounge chairs to the beach.)
Tulip is great, as is their little bar. Donald (who used to work at Amsterdam Manor) will take good care of you there.

wow...thanks everyone for the info on this hotel.....the couples will probably not stay in room much, as I see them hanging out on the beach all day....and they can always walk down to the Alhambra and tram it to our rooms if they want to stop in.....that is of course if they go....Girlfriends daughter is trying to talk mom into paying for flight....but so far no deal...so will see whether they can come up with cash to go anyway !!!!
