    MVC and Renaissance

Have any of you stayed at MVC? They have many good reviews but some very bad ones also. Pricing is really good.

Have not stayed there but been there many times at their restaurant, Tulip. Also got a chance to see one of the rooms a few years ago. The price basically reflects what you get. The rate is inexpensive and the room is very small/basic but clean. There is a restaurant on site, Tulip, which is a nice, casual place. Eagle Beach is right across the street and there are palapas but you do need to carry your lounge chair to the beach and back. If you just want an inexpensive place in a good location to rest your head, then this is it as long as you know that this is definitely a "no frills" kind of place. The owners of Amsterdam Manor manage both MVC and Tulip.

M vc eagle beach is very very basic , the pool is maybe 7x 12 and is very shallow like a wading pool. The rooms are sparse. The amenities are few. The onsite restaurant is Tulip and it is good!

Thanks For the replies. Priceline just accepted my bid. We are staying at the Renaissance Aruba Resort.

I tried $85 the last 2 days and was turned down. Increased to $90 for the 6 nights and they accepted. I think my wife will enjoy being close to shops but we both love the beach. We are renting a jeep and will be able to travel the island.

Does that include the 23%+ in taxes?

i am betting that it does not include the tax/fee.

so if the price he got was $90 and the tax/fee brings it to about $115 - 120 per night, that is still a good rate.

i will have to go back and look at my priceliine history and see where they add in the tax?

my priceline history online only goes back for 18 mos :-(
