Newbie - Tam questions

We will be visiting Aruba this summer for our 2nd time. The 1st time was for our honeymoon 20 years ago - this time it will be with teenagers. We are staying at the Tam AI and have some questions which I'm sure a lot of you here may be able to give us some great advice!

What is the protocol regarding tipping at an AI?

How far can we take the bikes from the Tam? Can we ride them downtown? Is it a safe ride? or are we better off to take the bus/taxi?

Can we make reservations at the restaurants longer than 3 days ahead?

We have been to the Tamarijn four times. Twice with a group of three girls aged 8 - 13 and twice with kids ages 8 - 20. Most recently the kids ranged in age from 17, 16, 15, 13 and 10 years old. The teenagers will have a terrfic time.

You can take the bicycles wherever you wish. Riding them downtown is fairly easy. You can also walk (very hot in the heat) or take the bus.
For a real challenge, the resort offers a free excursion at least once a week where you ride the bicycles along with a guide down the coastline up to the northern end of the island for some snorkeling.

Can we make reservations at the restaurants longer than 3 days ahead?

No.
