    Ok Ritz lovers...talk to me!

We usually stay in a condo on Eagle Beach, haven't stayed in the high rise area since '03. We have a stupid amount of Marriott points, and are doing a 2 week trip in July/Aug. Figured we might as well do a week on points. So my questions are...will I have to get up at 5 am to claim a chair at the pool? A place on the beach? Can I pay someone to do this for me ? I tend to spend more time at the pool than beach, but just dread the crazy busy pool scene. Please tell me how wonderful and not crazy busy the Ritz is so I can book this trip!!!

I love the Ritz more than one could imagine. The ladies and gentlemen of the Ritz Carlton are second to none IMO. I have stayed there about a dozen or so times and will be headed back this June/July for a couple of weeks. Will you have to get up at 5am for a chair, NO you will not have to. We never get to the pool very early and with only one exception we were able to get an umbrella/chairs by the pool. The gentleman will assist you setting up your chairs and getting the umbrella opened for you- just ask one of the guys or go to the towel hut and ask. We have not set up at the beach but there always appears to be spots there as well. You can reserve a cabana but those are some serious money. They have 2 pools, a family and an adult pool. The adult pool seems to fill up quicker than the kids pool. Make sure you ask about the free water sports available- paddle boards, kayacks etc...

The Ritz is not crazy and beyond wonderful. If/when you go, if you would like some personal suggestions on who I love to have assist us at each location I would be happy to share. If you are on TA you can also check out my hotel reviews to give you an idea of the service- its off the charts! My account there is jaydboston2012

Any questions let me know. It makes me smile just typing info about the Ritz...yep, I am addicted to the Ritz Carlton in Aruba!

I wish I could make this "guru" thing make me some money instead of filling the coffers of the owner of the Ritz, lol. That said, unpaid I am, lol.

Ok thanks Jay! Knowing it wont be a mad house at the pool helps me relax. We've walked around the property a few times and it always seemed a little calmer than some of the others. We're looking forward to trying it out.

Calmer is a good way to describe the Ritz..its not a zoo even during vacation weeks.

I would imagine that the Ritz is out of the budget for most people so therefore it is probably rarely at capacity with vacationers. I do know that when we have talked to people who are staying there they are usually there on a business trip.

The Ritz is almost always sold out when we travel there. We travel during the vacation weeks. When we were there in February they only had 1 room available. When I was there in April over vacation week they were almost sold out then as well. As far as price goes, it really depends. They soak you during vacation weeks- Xmas is off the charts, but other times the rates are similar to the Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton. Jetblue also has some great buys on occasion and really discount the rooms big time- we used jetblue vacation packages three times so far and had no issues. The Ritz does a good amount of business trips especially in between March-June when companies are rewarding their top performers.
