I hope that nobody on this Forum gets upset with the comment that I'm about to make; remember that I am very much including myself in the comment. Here it is, direct and simple:

The contributors to this Forum (including myself) are generally not the target audience for a resort such as this. I don't think that this resort is targeting those that love Aruba; it's creating a new destination for the "elite" who feel the need to remain isolated from the proletariat.

The resort destination will not be the typical Aruba experience.....the "elite" can have it......not for me, looks too sterile for my vacation taste. I can afford, but don't need to go, "first class", just so I can tell everyone that I did.

Liken it to a Sandals Resort in the Dominican Republic; that's a trip to Sandals, not the DR.

i agree that it seems to be aimed at those with very high end vacation standards.
that being said, if they need someone to test their product i would be happy to oblige

Funny you mentioned the "sterility" of the place... I saw that as well.
And considering they're playing up the concept of a Wellness Spa and such, I'd expect different.

As for the price, I can see there will be a lot of people spending more than they need to to relax.

And, if you have to wear a tshirt telling people you're bad, well, likeliness is, you aren't.

    Same sorta thing.

    That's okay. Let 'em be.

I agree as well with the....do I need to spend a fortune for a vacation ???? Even if I hit the lottery tomorrow I would not stay at a place that I felt I had to be dressed up in all the time.....I go to Aruba to PLAY....hang with friends and family....drink in the pool, in the ocean, at dinner...etc, etc, etc
But, as Andrea said...if they need a few guinea pigs I will happily oblige !!!!

I just saw an artistic rendering of the proposed resort. It reminds me of Bora Bora with the tiny huts built in the water on stilts with a wooden boardwalk connecting the huts. It looks really cool, but when is enough with the new resorts being built...

Although I think that the "hut over the water" is a neat idea, I can just see myself getting blown over the side of the boardwalk between buildings by the strong winds... and there goes my drink...

Yea,,,,,getting blown over into the water isn't bad, but loosing your drink in the process is a sin !!!!!
