question about Renaissance Aruba Resort And Casino

    hi there
We are going to Aruba for our first time during Thanksgiving. I won the bid on priceline website. It's a family trip including me, my husband, my mother in law and two babies. (one is 2 and another is 1). I found out that the hotel has two sections. We cannot stay in the Marina due to the kids. My first question is if i should make the request to the hotel? or will they assign us to the ocean section since we will check in with kids?Another question is i bid one room. Will they find out we have 5 ppl in the room? The babies are so little so they could sleep with us so we dont need to spend extra money. I know you need to swipe in to the island. Will they count how many ppl you have in the party?
Thanks in advance for all the help. I am very excited to the trip but worried about the hotel situation

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

please get in touch with customer service at priceline. thanksgiving is a busy time and you cannot take the chance, that the hotel will transfer you to the ocean suites...... they might be booked solid?

the renaissance marina will not allow children of any age.
the renaissance marina also allows only 2 per room.

the renaissance ocean suites allows 4 per room.
the timeshare units and the regular suites have a king sized bed and a pullout queen sleep sofa.
i do not know if they will waive the room capacity for you re: the 2 toddlers, mother in law and you and your spouse = 5. could be tricky.

you said in your post that you won the bid on priceline........is it the marina or ocean suites that you won?

    please contact priceline.

i would HATE to see your trip turn into a logistical nightmare at check in.

    and re: the private island
renaissance guests insert their cards into a device as they are getting onto the shuttle boat. the card will cause the light to glow green, meaning welcome aboard.
children in arms of parents do not need cards.

again, please contact priceline customer service soon to get your questions answered properly.

    Island and Ocean Suites

    • Maximum Occupancy: 4
    • 1 King
    • Sofabed
    • Rollaway beds permitted: 1
    • Cribs permitted: 2
    • Maximum cribs/rollaway beds permitted: 3

Let us know what they say. I am curious as to whether they would allow 3 adults and 2 children when they say maximum is 4, though "technically" you could sleep 2 adults in a king, 1 adult on the sofabed and 2 children in the 2 cribs.
