On the flip side...
Jmho, I think you need to take into consideration that during the entire time that the Radisson was undergoing renovation they offered special pricing to their guests. We were fortunate enough to have been able to afford to stay there last year with the special pricing. For the past few years prior to that, it had become beyond our price range. Personally, imo, now that the Radisson is fresh and newly renovated they are rightfully, able to charge more per night. If they find they are unable to sell their rooms at the current pricing, you will certainly see "specials" appear. As to their charging more for the Aruba tower, again, what the market will bear, is essentially what the resort is charging. The Aruba tower has always been the most highly requested tower out of the three towers at the Radisson. The rooms are slightly larger than the Curacao tower's and much larger than those in the Bonaire tower. Most importantly though, the views are the best from the Aruba tower. Doesn't everyone in Aruba, at ANY resort, pay for the view? It is natural that I would pay more for a partial oceanview in the Aruba tower click on the thumbnail to enlarge than I would for a partial oceanview in the Curacao tower, as seen below click on the thumbnail to enlarge To be honest though, through the years, having stayed in all three towers, the walls in the Aruba tower are very thin and for as much time as we spend in our room, the extra $$ would not be worthwhile for us. As an added note, it is interesting, I just went to a very popular online Caribbean travel website and they do not even sell the Aruba tower. As another aside, we are friends with two families who have traveled to Aruba over the summer on numerous occasions staying at the Tamarijn. The Tamarijn has become too expensive for both families and they began looking elsewhere. One family just booked the Radisson's breakfast buffet/lunch package with included beverage credit through MCM/Players Choice Tours, and the other is considering it if they can find a reasonable price on airfare. Both families were thrilled with the pricing and the package offered.

Believe you me I get it I have been booking at the Radisson and through MCM Tours for the past 12 years but this year it is OUTRAGIOUS sorry I don't do lunch because breakfast is always included and always eat at a reasonable time and it always holds me till dinner with a very small snack at the beach being I do not eat much as it is I really do not care what Tower I end up with because as you stated your only in the room to sleep. I just think they got overly confident but as you say once they see they are not getting the bookings by the ones that can not afford thier " renovation rates" they will come down in price sorry to say if they do not drop they will not get my business

if you like the hi rise area
you may want to look into playa linda timeshare or occidental timeshare. some of those are considerably cheaper than hotel. and if you consider the lo rise area, you can great timeshare rentals for much less than hotel rooms at the hi rise. costa linda, lacabana, divi phoenix-dutch and village, casa del mar, aruba beach club to name a few. and a very nice hotel with full kitchens is amsterdam manor across from eagle beach. |

Booked a couple of weeks ago thru Player's Choice for the first week in July...... and it was just a couple of hundred dollars more than last year.... Pretty sure that was mostly airfare. IMO it's great to be able to go back to the hotel that we like the most on the island! Regarding the Aruba tower being more money - we acutally like the other towers better! Seems more quite and cozy.... but then again, we really spend very little time in our room
