From what I heard talking to people in the know, the building has been sold to a group of local investors. Some of it being the local pension fund. The management of it is still in negotiations with 3 possibles. Not sure who they are but it will not be an all inclusive group. . . . . Most likely nothing will be announced till after the first of the year. Till then, everything is status quo. . . . .
"management of it is still in negotiation" does that translate into they are negotiating which hotel chain will be the franchisor?
My best guess would be that they are still negotiating who will buy the property and for what terms. Next step would be the investment group selecting a franchise. I really believe that this will continue to be a Radisson franchise..... regardless of who owns the property..... maybe that's just my wish...! In any event with renovations having just been completed I wouldn't expect an action that would be adverse to all of the long term employees. After all, the employees make any property.
We heard that "rumor" when we were on the island at Christmas from one of the employees who stated it as "fact".
In February it was said on tripadvisor the deal with Hilton would be done in 60 days.
... so here we are April 23...
...I hope it is true...I hope it happens sooner rather than later...
