    Radisson - Hilton or RIU

The word out was Hilton taking over the Radisson. Now I hear from locals that it will a RIU. I tried to confirm this by calling the Hilton. They said they will take over the Radisson in 3-6 months. Then I contacted the RIU sales dept. and asked if there was going to be a 3rd RIU and she said yes. If it is true about the RIU I don't understand how the government can allow RIU to have 3 AI's all next to one another in the same area. Anyone know anything?

here is the translation from Minsiter Otmar Oduber's FB page re: the Radisson.

    Parliament is AGAINST another AI

    translation as follows:
Trying to regulate all inclusive property is known from the beginning of 2013 and continue in 2014 & 2015 where a rapport is in the process of finalizing and counting on the support of the 21 parlamentario

To back up a permit regarding this issue.Aruba is the third country in the world that is dependent on tourism keeping this in mind we need to stand for the well being of our island and because of this we are against more all inclusives hotels

Thanks. I saw Oduber's facebook post today but I couldn't translate hardly any of it. Time will tell if it will be a Hilton or RIU.

I hoped it would also. The locals I know say it's going to be RIU. And they are NOT happy.

Yikes! Should I be concerned about my August reservations at the Radisson? Are all the RIU'S all inclusive? If most of you would switch hotels, is there one in the area that you would suggest? The Westin or Hyatt?

Stick with the Radisson...... changes like this (if there is a change) take months to happen...... you'll be good!

The Westin is gone and is now a Riu. The Hyatt us a beautiful property in the same area.
