Radisson History?

Here's something for you other 'radies' - There are some great old photos of the original hotel (50's?) on the wall at Gilligan's. Does anyone know the history of this property? I think it was the first resort on Palm Beach. How about more pictures? A Google search image search gave me a travel brochure drawing (50's - 60's) with a happy couple on the beach with the Aruba tower in the backgound and no other hotels.

Thanks Arubalisa, Those are the photos I saw in Gilligans.... Anyone else have some older pictures of the resort or some history. I think it was originally the Caribe Resort.... but still doing some research!

Did you search here in the forum? I tried yesterday but there were too many posts and I gave up. I thought I remembered it being here somewhere

I honeymooned at The Aruba Caribbean, now the Radisson, in 1973 and it was a great hotel. The entire front desk area was done in delft china tiles from Holland and it was quite beautiful. The Sheraton was next door and those were the only 2 high rise hotels and casinos on Palm Beach. Our "big" dinner was at the Talk of the Town which had a wonderful restaurant back then.

I need to dig out our honeymoon slides (yes, we used 35 mm film back then) and will post some pictures of Aruba when I get back from next week's trip.
