Hi!
My soon-to-be husband and I will be honeymooning in Aruba the first week of September. We are trying to decide which hotel would be better, the Radisson or the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. We are interested in a nice room and good pools and beaches. We would also like to be within walking distance of some local restaurants if that is possible. We like kids but don't really want to be surrounded by them (but kids might be back in school by September). We will probably spend most of our time relaxing by the pool or beach, but we will spend some time in the room. Thank you for your help!! |

I just returned from my first visit yesterday.
My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Stellaris and had a wonderful time. I did walk the beach all the way down to the Occidental (this includes the Radisson, Hyatt and others). IMO (and my wife agrees) the beach at the Marriott was MUCH nicer than any of the other high rise properties. It was quieter, less crowded and the beach (especially at water's edge) was pure sand instead of sand and rocks and hunks of coral and seaweed all along the rest. The big negative against the Marriott during your timeframe is the website says the pool will be closed for renovations then. You can use the Ocean Club's pool next door, but that means double the people and several minutes walk back and forth. The locations of the Radisson and the Marriott are very different in relative terms. The Radisson is in the middle of the action with an easy walk to many properties and restaurants. The only restaurants within walking distance of the Stellaris are on Marriott property. We preferred the serenity of hearing the gentle waves and the palm trees on the beach to hearing boisterous crowds from multiple properties interupting our relaxation. |

We have stayed at both. They are both very nice. We usually stay at the Marriott now because we are adding days to our vacation and our timeshare is at the Ocean Club. We would not hesitate to stay at the Radisson. We enjoyed our stay there.

Thanks Everyone for all of the great information!
I think we are going to try the Radisson due to Marriott's pool remodel. Thank you Jon in SC for that info. We had no idea! We are worried that two hotels using one pool might get a bit crowded. We are going to book the honeymoon tonight
