We are leaving the end of this month for a week at this hotel==booked here due to a corporate special rate--reviews on Trip Advisor are pretty bad--I was sort of surprised--has anyone been there recently.
Reviews mentioned dirty, musty and generally not nice........

I never stayed in a Marina Tower room, but have spent significant time at the Renaissance resort and all facilities are shared between the Ocean Suites and Marina Tower. The Marina facilities are top notch....pool, lobby, restaurants....never have been in a room.

As for the beach....I guarantee that you will love Renaissance Island.

Thanks--I understand the part we are in is adults only but do you know if we can go to both areas?? This makes me feel better as it seemed such a good deal at the $84per night rate till I read the reviews! But I guess even if the rooms are tired I won't be in the room that much!

$84/night is a great deal.

Yes....everything is shared....everything. The only restriction is that kids (I think 16 and younger) aren't supposed to use the Marina pool or bar area.

Screw the reviews...you will be very happy with room, its location, private island, and all it has to offer...enjoy...we've been 14X to the Renn.

I have to back my friends Rob & Cindy on this one. I have stayed at both and never had any problems. You will love it, enjoy!

I am so happy to hear good things!
Also using Bully taxi to pick us up so I guess I am on the right track! Can't wait to get out of this DC cold weather!
