I notice that this topic is quite old... But I have a question regarding the day-pass! Is the price for a day pass for locals also $ 75? Or do they get a discount?

The last I had heard the Renaissance discontinued the day passes. As a matter of fact, they are not listed (scroll about half way down) at http://www.arubabycruise.com/aboutaruba.html with other resorts offering day passes.

day passes

it seems day passes are for cruise personal = to bad the resorts don't offer their day passes to anyone - it would be good business and a way for their resorts to get extra revenue and some of us might want to stay there on the next time in Aruba - I know I would enough a day pass to most every one of the resorts listed

if resorts were in the business of selling day passes, then many of the resort guests would be livid.

ex: marriott has limited space and lounge chairs/shade huts are "limited".
if the marriott resort guests had to compete with cruisers or other day pass holders it would be bad.

some resorts still offer day passes for right to use lounges and shade huts in slower seasons.

Many cruise ship passengers, besides just personnel, purchase day passes to the resorts which offer them.

I'm staying at the Marriott. What activities are available once on the island? Will tips be necessary...or should I say "encouraged"?

Are you staying at the Renaissance or Marriott Stellaris?

if you are a guest at RENAISSANCE MARINA TOWER or RENAISSANCE SUITES TIMESHARE one of the perks is the use of REN ISLAND. (Marritott Stellaris, Surf Club and Ocean Club does not have the perk of REN ISLAND)

However, there is a charge for food and drink and water sports equipment.

i do not know if the folks on the all inclusive program eat free at REN ISLAND.
