Hi Andrea. Thank you so much for your prompt responses. You've been very informative and pretty much filled me in on the private island and what to expect. I'm sure my wife and I will love and have a fun time while there. Thanks again, Adam.

Hi. Does the Renaissance Ocean Suites or Marina Hotel have grills for outdoor grilling? I know the Marriott Aruba Surf Club has an dedicated outdoor grilling area in their courtyard for their guests. Thanks, Adam

We were just at Renn Marina and went to private island. We did take a soft sided cooler with drinks. It does resemble a beach bag and nothing was said. We took snacks also. The happy hour at the Blue bar was 2 for 1 and the bartenders were fun. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you. I'm not too worried about we can bring over to the private island. Though, I already picked up from reading responses they basically don't like you bringing anything; meaning food and water. But can they really expect you to not try? Do they actually search your beach bags before getting on the water taxi?

We had 2 different drivers and they did not. But it sounds like some others might.

We were required to open our soft sided small cooler a few times. We had water bottles and ice packs for my husband's bad back. After a number of days passed the looking did stop and it was explained to us that the new island manager is cracking down on those bringing food and beverages and not using the restaurant on island.

Ps. Also too we were told that bringing coffee in a travel cup was also not allowed but we did it anyway. The restaurant serves only instant coffee and does not open til 10.
    I needed coffee at 8

Alright well I think I know what to expect now when come time for us to board the water taxi to the private island. Thanks everyone for the advice.

What's the crowd like downtown around the Marina resort come dinner time and afterwards? Is there popular spots we should check out? We want to stay out of the casinos and probably mingle about the streets. Thanks, Adam
