Exclamation Ritz Carlton Is Now Open for Bookings

Looks like they are now accepting reservations for stays starting November 22, 2013. Cheapest room with taxes on that date is $809 per night including all taxes.

I have written more details including pricing on my blog at Opening of the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba and Ritz-Carlton Aruba Features & Amenities. Their seafood restaurant and grill restaurants sound wonderful.

I was swimming behind the Ritz today next to the fisherman's huts, and it looks like they might just make that opening date. (Photos to follow soon). According to Lisa's site, one of the restaurants will be Solanio. Hopefully now, Aruba will get a their first decent Italian restaurant. (My first time visiting your blog and I must say, you did a great job!).

    Regards,

    Amen! to that!

"Comfortable, authentic and delectable Solanio offers up a menu of tasty and beautifully prepared dishes with an Italian accent. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, at this all day trattoria settle into a booth in the comfortable and contemporary dining room, take in the ocean breezes on the terrace with alfresco dining or enjoy cuisine with dramatic views of the open-air kitchen. Savor a variety of traditional favorites with an Italian twist paired with hand-crafted cocktails or house-made limoncello.

    Open
    Breakfast & Lunch: 6:30 a.m. 3 p.m.
    Dinner: 6 p.m. 10:30 p.m."

Is the water real shallow there or is that further north towards Malmok and the shipwreck above the water level?

Thanks for the compliment David. Means more than you know.

Arubalisa, Ditto Retagger's comment on your site. I visit it regularly and always enjoy what you've included. Back to the Ritz..... too rich for my blood!

    Thank you

I thought the prices were stunning Not even an introductory "special". Probably the right way to go with an opening during a holiday and new staff learning the routines.

However having said that, Marriott did their marketing and I will bet that it is not only going to be a big hit and their occupancy rate will be very high. I have already heard the complaint that you cannot book using "points". This person had saved points religiously in hopes of using them.

Wow, that's a tad on the high side for a room, even for an "American" holiday. I agree with the others Lisa, your site is wonderful and full of great info and tips for visiting the island. I refer to it often prior to leaving and while we are there.

Another photo taken from the water yesterday. It is only about three feet deep where I took this photo.

Thanks David. So the water is pretty shallow? We were not that big on the beach at the Phoenix for that reason. Oh and seagrass, but that is off topic.
Since the greenery on those dunes is shown on the architectural drawings I am thinking they are staying? A good thing...

Walt, I agree, prices are too rich for my blood. With that said Marriott, parent company of Ritz Carlton, I am positive, did their research. Supply and demand.

Wondering if the date for opening is still November?
I read somewhere that some plumbing issues were posing some challenges.

I guess they could always off a lot of people and bunk them at the Marriott next door if the resort is not ready. Don't think I would want to be the bearer of that news.
