Surf Club and Interval Question.

I decided to ask this question here instead of the timeshare threads as most on there are for selling or renting.

I have two weeks reserved for next Feb at the Surf Club. The first in the one bedroom and the second in the lock-off unit. I was wondering if I can deposit the second week with Interval then trade it for another unit during the same time as our first week? And if so, how likely would it be that we could get that week since it is platinum season? We may be taking other family members and the one bedroom will not be big enough. (Looking back, I should have booked the two bedroom to begin with.)

Any help is appreciated!

i'm thinking it may be easier to bank both units with interval and then trade for 1 week 2 br unit. of course, you'll have to make sure that a 2br is available first. also, if i'm not mistaken, i believe not all platinum weeks are always fully packed and it differs depending on the type of view you choose. ocean view and side may have availability.

FYI Interval International is owned by the Marriott. Perhaps you can call Marriott Reservations and see what they can do.

Yes, you can deposit the studio with II. Then you will have to have some good luck to get a room in Feb. You won't see any come up until after the new year. Then you will have to watch like a hawk or tell II you want to do a requst first. Tell them the date and how big of a unit and then if it comes availible, they will switch the weeks for you. That way you won't loose the week until they find you something. On the other hand. If the studio is booked for Feb and you are not going to use it. deposite it and you will have up to 2 years to use it elsewhere. If you wait until 60 days before check-in to deposite it, you will get docked. Kent

Thanks for all the replies. I think what we'll do is go ahead and deposit the week and do a request for a lock-off unit for the week we will be there. If that goes through maybe we can contact Marriott and combine both into a two bedroom.

If that does not go through, well just use that week in the fall of 09 instead of using points.

Good luck getting another week in Feb.We deposited our week in June ,requested a 1 Br (not a lockout unit) for MAO or surf for any of 3 weeks in Feb and still haven't been confirmed Hope you have better luck

I called Marriott yesterday and was able to cancel both weeks and get a two bedroom for the last week of Jan. And a brighter note is that airfare is a lot cheaper that week! Now we'll have to see if the others can go with us.

Thanks for the offer. We may have to take up on it!

Looks like we arrive the same day and this will be our ninth or tenth visit. I'll have to look at our passports to find out for sure.
