Question tamarijin... Help about the food ???

Hello so I was at the bank today and just started talking to the teller telling her I was going to Aruba in June, and where I was staying. I told her the tamarijin, and she looked like I said I was staying in HELL. I said what is wrong and she processed to tell me all the bad things about it, like FOOD she said she had to eat out almost everyday because she could not book a restaurant to eat, that they were all full through-out the week and that is how they get you into paying All inclusive and not do anything about not being able to eat. She also said it is like that at the other resorts to, she mention riu... So my question is.. People that have been there is it that way or is she just being negative? I still want to go, but I also want to be able to eat!!!!!! I usually just listen to people, but follow my gut and it's saying to go and have a blast....

Hi Ann. I just returned from the Divi yesterday and ate at both Divi restaurants multiple times as well as the Divis. We had no problem getting into any of the restaurants. They were accepting reservation 2 days in advance. As soon as we got there we checked in and then went straight over to the guest services desk and booked for that night and the next 2 nights. A couple days later I went back and booked the rest. We always had a good availability of times to choose from as well as inside or outside. And I really enjoyed eating at each of them. Maybe the teller went in the busy season? I know Sept is a slower month but it was a holiday weekend and it was not an issue to get tables. I really do recommend though that you do book the restaurants they are a million times better than the buffets. Enjoy your trip, we really liked it there.

Ann, I would not book or cancel a vacation based upon the opinion of someone who was just relating someone ELSE'S opinion. That is just hearsay.

I can show you just about as many good reviews of the Tamarijn as the bad reviews. Pm me if you want more info. BELIEVE me I accummulated about 8 pages of reviews to hand out to my family. They too were very reassured.

My grandmother's biggest problem was with all of the complaints about the size of the rooms. I told her that it could be no worse than the 179 sq ft cruise ship cabin she shared for 11 nights with her 2 teenaged great-grandaughters last Christmas. She was happy with the comparison.

Hello!
I think you will love the Tamarijn. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon 3-1/2 years ago and went back for our 1st anniversary. We now have a timeshare and stay elsewhere but always miss the Tamarijn. The rooms are clean and plenty big enough. The food at the buffett is great. It changes every night and I thought it was really good with lots of choices. The grill has great sandwiches and pizza and the restaurants are stupendous! We had to wait for a day ONCE because that day was booked but other than that the restaurants are definitely accessible. I know I am going on and on, but one more thing, the people there are very nice. We made friends with alot of the staff. They really go out of their way to make everything a paradise for you.
Go, have fun, you will love it!

Connie

Hi Ann,
Ive been visiting the Tamarijn for 8x this September in the last 6 yrs. I absoulutely love it, it's not a five star, but all of the people that work there are great and have become very good friends of mine and my fiance and children. The Buffet food is fine, Lunch is the greatest, they cook differently then we do, so be adventurous. The Red Parrot is the best.
And dont forget my friends at the timeshare booth, they will give you all the info that you want. Ive visited in april- may. And most of my visits have been in September, I'll be leaving on Tuesday for 2 weeks .... OF FUN IN THE SUN So sit back enjoy the view and the good drinks and make all kinds of new friends, its a great place.................. Becky

Food at Divi and Tam

My husband and I had a great time at the Tam last Sept for our honeymoon. The food was overwhelming (lots of choices, and very rich) and resturants great! Buffets if you don't want to make reservation, and if you want a reservation at the Red Parrot, make it in the morning, or early afternoon, so you get the time you'd like. Red Parrot was our favorite. We did eat out once, at Iguana Joe's which was good. We'll be in Aruba again this fall, we can't wait.
