Tamarijn opinions

DW and I are planning our spring vacation. We usually do all inclusive in the Dominican or Mexico. We are thinking of trying the Tamarijn this year. I feel like a newbe with this questions but how do you like it? We have been staying at the Aruban so long we feel lost

The Rest of Our Vacation

If an oceanfront room is not your priority, you may want to consider the Divi. There are less kids at the Divi. The Divi has four categories of rooms with the most expensive being oceanfront. The Tamarijn has only one category room with all rooms oceanfront. These are both considered 3 star resorts. They do serve some top shelf alcohol brands, but I do not think they compare in luxury to chains such as Riu and other brands you find in the D.R. and Mexico.

We found it very difficult at first switching from the 4 star resorts on Palm beach (Westin & Radisson) to the Tamarijn. There are pros and cons of both. It really depends on what your priorities and budget are.

Sounds good Bill. Just want you to know that it is a bit of a different type of experience from the "other" all inclusives that you may have visited.

There are tons of reviews on tripadvisor as well. Some folks really love it, some people really hate. Imo, the truth lays somewhere in the middle.

Thanks for sharing the reports and pictures of the Tamarijn Arubalisa. We are looking for a laid back week on the beach and use of the resort and the Divi. The couple we are traveling with has stayed at Sandals in the Bahamas and I told them this probably will not be like that. We just want to kick back and relax. Is March crazy at the Tam and Divi? We will be arriving March 23rd.

Exactly what you will get.

I have never stayed at a Sandals but know enough about them that this will be nothing like it. BUT I am positive it is less expensive and more than likely they did not have a room which opened directly out onto the beach.

We have never been to the Tamarijn at that time of year. As long as it is not Easter, should not be too over run with kids. Either way, we have stayed at the Tamarijn 3 times when they were sold out and there were never any issues. Just make sure you get your reservations for dinner. If your dining time and restaurants are flexible, that shouldn't be an issue either.

Thanks again! Easter is April 4th this year, so it sounds like it should be fine!
